How is this fun or interesting or mythologically relevant or anything cool?

I've heard of deaths by choking in some... but generally speaking it was there in order to sort of present the reader with the sense of "how pathetic".

The only times I've heard of death by choking in mythology involve someone else's hands around someone's throat.

On the other hand, there's snow white...

Ah, you've only read the good mythology, it seems.

Would'a been pretty lame if that eagle harassin' Prometheus just up and choked on a piece of liver...or if Cinderella's evil stepmum choked on a lingonberry.

I think we can agree that by the time anyone reached an age they would be a viable adventurer, they'd already be at Legendary..

there could be a random chance of choking, but this wouldn't kill the adventurer/fortress agent, the adventurer should have a chance of save himself like showed here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choking, and the chance of saving himself would be based on some kind of skill. (first aid)

Post-scriptum: How do I create a nice hyperlink?

^*phrase*(quote me)

If anything is achieved from this thread, an adventurer should bite the unicorn horn that has pierced his mouth as an automatic reaction, which does not cause damage, but places a hold by his mouth. It makes sense.

Actually choking is already ingame
[BONECARN]
Its suggested that the creature likes to eat bones and can choke on them.
Though random suffication is more like an anoying incentive to cheat( like boogeymen).

I'm pretty sure [BONECARN] has nothing to do with choking at all and you're misinformed or making things up.

[BONECARN] causing choking has been around, supposedly, since 40d. But I've never seen a kobold actually choke on a bone, so I dunno.

I never saw a kobold eat anything, that explains why they're all dead around year 5 or they starved or they mass-choked...

Yeah, this is the first I've even heard of it.  Even then it seems like an odd thing to bake into the token solely because (knowing DF) you'd get enormous dragons choking to death on sparrow bones or something.

There could be a dice roll whenever you eat something, 1:1,000,000,000, you'll just choke and die. DF style.

DF style.

Rolling on a completely random chart is the exact opposite of DF style cause and effect though.
