As they began running, the shadows stayed behind. They appeared to be attached to the building. However, there seemed to be some at every building they passed. Through the air flew childish screams of "COME HERE AND PLAY MISTER" and "COME BACK, YOU CAN'T GO!" These things were dangerous. And damn creepy at that.

As Zack ran down the street he ripped the lid of a nearby trash-can, and spun around launching it at the shadows, but he dared not continue to look as he turned, and pushed himself even harder as he pelted down the street. "Go to hell you demons of the shadows !!!" He screamed at the the shadows, but kept running despite the presence he felt pushing down on him.

And then he broke through the fog, the sweet relief of sunlight stinging his eyes. The fog formed an unnatural wall just behind him, with nearly no irregularities. Something was, extremly, deeply wrong today, and he had experienced it. Oddly, as soon as he stepped out of the wall of red, the sound completly stop, as if the sound was being blocked by some sort of invisible wall. The shadow children were definatly contained in there.

Alex heard more of the screeching and... childish laughter... as the number of monsters seemed to grow. "OHhh no" Alex took to his heels and hightailed it towards what seemd like the nearest exit of the fog, bursting through into fresh air and breathing deeply, rubbing his eyes. He was gasping for breath, and he looked at his wound. "Oh god..." Strangely, the sound was gone and unhearable, and there was a police barrier outside the fog.

Zack's headache tore through him once again, but this time with much more ferocity as it brought him down to his knees, and he passed out from the combined pain of both his headache, and the slash marks across his back. The last thing he saw was a police line, and he heard someone screaming in the background.

Making sure his sleeve gun was covered up by his suit jacket Henry walked towards the police line. As Zack fell several paramedics dragged him back towards the barricades after a quick examination. A mustached police officer ran up to Henry. "Who are you, and what the hell is happening in there? We have some of our own in there and what happened to the other guy has me worried. You seen anyone else?" he seemed worried, and with good reason.

"My name is Henry MacShadon, and I have no idea what the hell I saw in there. It was almost like a horror movie. There were some strange things in there, if you don't believe me ask the other guy when he gets up." Henry tried his best to sound sane, the last thing he wanted was to be taken into custody with a prototype weapon strapped to his arm. "If anyone needs a statement on what I saw I'd be glad to write one up here."

((Someone can RP the police officer if they want, otherwise I'll assume I just wrote a statement and left once Zack was taken away.))

((When everyone is out of the barrier we can finish the event and post another. We need this to keep moving, not that it is moving slow ;). The gap between events seems to be where most freeform games die off from lack of information to work with. I'd hate to see this thread stop, even if I did go crazy with hammerspace weapons for a second ::). Sorry about that.

Maybe we could have two smaller connected events running together? I would love some intrigue, but events like this force NPC combat, which is not suppose to be the focus. It would work well for the Agency though, showing a stronger presence in the city and making Secret-Keepers feel threatened.))

((Maybe the 3 GMs could reveal what direction they want the RP to go in, just keeping out details so no one is tempted to meta etc. I'm just kinda confused because I thought this was about secret societies with mutants and kind of a RP mafia with 3 sides, but now it's monsters in the fog and supernatural stuff.))

((I'll collaberate with bd and cook something up for you guys, don't worry. And one of the main features of the game is finding and keeping secrets, remember that ;) ))

((Yeah. I was expecting individuals to be hunted, maybe some group mechanics, and an attempt to find out what is happening. For now it's just monsters that we can't really look into without being suicidal, and people that no one ran into. There wasn't even much obvious Agency movement other than the serial killings. I think I'll stick to carrying normal weapons in the future. Maybe Moriarty's spring loaded pistol system...))

With the mysterious stranger silent once more Tor began to consider the possiblility of illusion, natural could of course be ruled right out, but there was distinct possibility of his senses being fooled. Tor grunted as he kicked the dead monstrosity, it felt real enough, but then again it would wouldn't it?

More screams began to emerge from the fog, human and less so blending in against a background of... laughter? Alex seemed stricken by the sound and the kid bolted after a moment of the faint chiming sound. Tor was glad to be along again, the kid was safe and -if the was an illusion- he didn't have to worry about having to tend to a threat that only one of them could see.

Tor grimaced and shouldered his travel bag, no way in hellfire he was leaving without a few answers. No creature this side of pale or the other kicked him out of his apartment without an explanation. With his pistol in one hand and the other tucked through his pack's strap to keep it steady while moved Tor began walking toward the sound of laughter, smiling faintly. He'd always liked kids.

Pity these were probably going to try and kill him.

Fraid so. I never did get a response back from bdthemag or fniff. I could go ahead and put that world event up if you want to try and keep it alive.
