Jamie wakes up in the morning using his keyboard as a pillow and some file as a teddy-bear. He had fallen asleep  while archive diving for some obscure file on some incident a few years back that may or may not have some relevance today. It was probabbly a dead end, like most others where. He could never quite get the answers he want, he sighed as he takes a deep swig of lukewarm coffee and gets to typing again, Hoping to find some connections between some obscure events.

At rather late time, a tall downtrodden man wakes up in his apartment. Sighing, he checks the clock on the nightstand.
"12:00 PM," he mutters, "Damn, I must've stayed up late."

Deciding to skip breakfast today, the man takes a shower and gets dressed. Opening the closet, he pushes away a simple grey mechanic's jumpsuit, labeled with the name Damien Gullisken, and chooses something more fitting on a day off. Looking at a few interesting news clippings from a few months ago, he contemplates on what to do. Not really finding anything of value in his mind, he simply decides to take a walk for a while.

Might as well, take some time to relax off work or chasing ghosts.

Robert walks out of a coffee shop a few hours later, holding a large cup of coffee in his hands. He walks down the side walk, sipping the coffee and occasionally muttering something to himself. He took a look behind him, and noticed that a man in a buisness suit was getting rather close to him. He panicked and immediately started to run away from the man. This man in a suit wasn't after him, no far from it. He was an actual buisness man, just heading to work. Robert was getting increasingly paranoid, although he wasn't really aware of it.

Robert continued running down the sidewalk, occasionally bumping into people. Even after he was sure he lost him, he kept on running. He figured he'd run until he was far, far away from this area of the city. Due to him not paying any attention to his surroundings, he suddenly hit a hard object and he brought it down with it. The thing he hit yelped below him, he muttered sorry to the tall downtrodden looking man he ran into and ran off. The man he ran into yell's at Robert, but Robert is gone. The man looks down to see a few pappers and a wallet that the other guy must have dropped accidently...

The next thing that happened to Damien he just didn't expect. Some random deadbeat came barreling down the street, and before he was able to react, both went reeling to the ground. Getting up, he simply yells a string of profanities at his aggressor. But, as soon as he appeared, he was gone.

Dusting himself off, Damien notices a items dropped by that man. A few papers, and to Damien's joy, his wallet. He picks up the items and takes a good look at them, and more likely than not, pockets whatever cash is left in the wallet.

There wasn't much in the wallet, only 8$ along with a few nickles. There wasn't even an ID in the wallet. The paper's however, are more interesting. On them are various sketches, along with paragraph upon paragraph of writing.

Zack walks up to a broken down shack, and knocks on the door several times, and stands there waiting in silence. After several moments of silence he continues once more, and yells "Damnit, open the door you old nut-case !!!".

There was nothing at the crime scene worth noting as far as he could tell. It was his first time at a crime scene, but it told him a lot about what happened; more than a cleaned scene would tell. If he was to find clues as to of what was happening in the city he would have to find more crime scenes as they form. He might even have to hack into the police communications network which shouldn't be too hard all things considered.

Walking back past the coffee shop he found himself unintentionally following someone. The guy kept looking back at him nervously. Who does he think I am? The man broke into a run. Henry looked down to see if there was anything horribly wrong, not seeing anything out of place he straightened his vest and tie and looked back up. Whoever he is he thinks I'm dangerous. Weird. The man disappeared into an alley, but Henry had no reason to follow him. It might be a bad idea to follow someone that thinks you might hurt them.

He made it to work with time to spare. He went to the secretary and said, "Hey Mary. I finished the designs, could you pass them on to the boss?"

"Sure Henry." she paused for a moment after taking the tube. "You look tired, are you still having trouble sleeping?"

"Yeah, like always. Stargazing might still be the death of me, but the big design projects don't help."

"At least you can work at home. Try to get some sleep for once."

"I'll try. See you later."

"Bye."

He walked out of the office and back onto the streets.

Jamie set down the receiver, Hard, Apperently some editor had wanted him to go out and do a job for him, collecting the once in a lifetime scoops that  newsmen make their fortunes on. But he thought that this kind of thing happened overnight, Au contrare, Jamie often sat for hours in his office, mulling over and collecting facts just to make that one key link that unravels everything. And those are the days Jamie thirsts for, But luckily Jamie managed to talk the editor down into him just collecting some intresting photo's for him, the pay wasnt good but it got the bills paid. "Such is the life of a- Aw who cares" he mumbled to himself as he put his camera strap over his neck, one of those advanced digital cameras with the telephoto lens, He picked it up during his last gig. "Now to hit the streets" he mumbled as he put on his dusty greatcoat and walked out onto the street, holding onto his camera tightly.

"...Eight dollars? Man, this guy has less than what I make in an hour. But money's money."
Not willing to waste it, Damien pockets the wallet. Hey, free money and a new wallet, win-win. The papers, on the other hand, are a totally different thing. Damien reads them as he walks back to his apartment, gotta be somethin' valuable of a guy is running about like that. Then again, it might now, considering that hooligan had only eight bucks and not even an ID. But hey, knowledge is power.

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

Someone with a hammer was bashing at the edge of her thoughts.

A hammer struck down the nails of a mahogany coffin, the sharp noise changing in timbre as she shook herself awake amidst a folder of news clippings and photographs. The clock read 1pm. She had somewhere to be, and grabbed her jacket from the coat-hook.

The sound came again and Van realised there was someone at the door.

It was unlocked and opened to two uniformed men, police detectives. Van recalled meeting one of them when she had been to give her version of the events that night.

"Officers." She straightened. "Did you find something?"

"Good afternoon. I'm afraid not. We want to ask you some more questions about the night you found Mr Usuf."

"I've already told you everything I know."

The officer next to the detective gave her a strange look then that she couldn't draw away from. She noticed his uniform was adorned with a strange symbol that she hadn't seen before. Special division? The force holding her gaze seemed to break just as she noticed it and she shook her head. Probably still tired.

"We just have to go over a few things." the detective said. "It won't take two minutes."

"I'm actually just leaving, can we talk in the corridor?"

"It's really only one thing. We have reason to believe your friend was consorting with some criminal groups, likely terrorists we have been tracking."

"Terrorists?"

"Yes. I must ask again if Mr Usuf confided anything about these groups to you. Did you know about his dealings with them?"

What the hell did you get yourself mixed up in, Simon?

The other officer was looking at her strangely again.

"Miss?"

Lie.

She swallowed. "No, he never said anything. This is the first I've heard of it... terrorists?"

The police officer seemed to relax. "Nothing to concern yourself about. Well, we've taken up enough of your time." They disappeared into a marked car.

Conspiracy or not... something weird is going on. She hurried to her destination.

The citizens of the city are baffled by the sudden fog surrounding the old area of the city, after the fog rolled in the news stations of the city all raced to be the first team to get there first.

The reporter for Channel 4 News was at the scene, although his crew wasn't the first to get there. He was just outside the fog, and from where he was it didn't look like normal fog. Fog rarely comes in this time of year, and its only in one small secluded area. The wierdest thing about it though is that it had a red tint to it!

Even worse there were screeching noises coming from inside the fog, all of the other teams wouldn't dare to go in there. But he wanted to show what the other news teams couldn't, he was planning on going inside the fog.

He led his team into the red fog, and he could barely see in front of him. He yelled out to the cameraman to start recording, and he did. "Hello, this is John Chatman from the Channel 4 News team and im here at the Old Quarter where a red fog has enveloped the entire area." another screeching sound came from somewhere, John nervously glanced around. John suddenly realized how stupid this was, so he called for the crew to make its way back but there was no response. He thought to himself that they probally just ran off, those assholes always run off to leave him. He tried to retrace his steps out of the fog, but it almost seemed as if he wasn't moving at all, he heard another screech although it seemed as if it came from right behind him...

Teodosio fell into a hacking cough, attempting to shield his mouth with his sleeve. Stupid, stupid to come unprepared. There could be anything in this thing, and he didn't want to be breathing in too much. The fog made his eyes water. He wasn't even far into the fog yet. The sounds of the city were oddly muffled already. The big man stopped, trying to get a good look at the street around him. He could barely make out the cobblestones beneath his feet. The nearby buildings seemed to dream-like to him, as if they'd disappear from the slightest touch.

Another damned shriek came from somewhere to his side, beyond the row of renovated 16th century buildings. It was followed shortly by another, a pained scream that sounded much more human. Teodosio tensed, edging closer to the nearest wall. He'd been to the Old Town before a few times, always crowded by noisy tourists and young women backpacking through the country. They made him sick, parading around in their slutty little skirts and tight clothing with no respect for the history of this place.

There was a third shriek, snapping him out of his thoughts. Teodosio rubbed his temples, tried to peer out the narrow, zigzagging street as it climbed up the district and set off towards its general direction.

((Lets not make an official city map. Bending space so you can get to events is !!FUN!!. So we are in Europe?))

Outside a coffee shop, 5 blocks from Atlas Arms (Henry's employer), 1:15 p.m.

Henry was sitting outside a coffee shop just conceptually toying with new weapon designs on paper before something dramatic happened. He looked up to see that several blocks away a pale red mist floated in the air, and nerve-racking screaming could be heard only to be silenced mid-scream. He was too tired to notice earlier, but people were running away from this mist. Henry stayed calm, maybe it was a riot, or at least something logical. Moments later the mist gave way to a thick mist which poured from around the corner of the building several blocks down. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, but Henry swore that it was moving at a slow pace.

He folded and pocketed his papers, whatever was happening he had to know. Chances are it had nothing to do with the serial killings, but this was too strange to pass up, the scientist in him was too interested to leave now. He stood up and started walking towards the fog he decided to that he would have to go past the mist and into the fog, even if it was dangerous. If he was lucky he might just be able to see the cause. "What are you?" he thought coldly to himself as he walked into the fog. As he walked into the dense crimson fog he lost almost all vision and started sticking to the walls. The smell of iron salts filled his nostrils, he removed his coat and draped it over his head with one hand and covered his mouth with the other. The gases would be thinner if he did this since the iron gas was so heavy. He headed into the nearest open building for some shelter while he came up with a plan.

After standing at his friend's house for thirty minutes with no answer Jack turns, and walks back towards the city. Along the way he thought "Why wasn't he home ? He has never left that house since he discovered the murderers four years ago." Before he could continue his thought he noticed a red fog in front of him, and stopped dead in his tracks. "What the hell ?" he murmured as he walked forward towards the slowly moving fog. "Well, lets see exactly what you are." He said, and rushed forward into the fog. As soon as he entered he was shrouded in the fog, and nearly fail to his knees from the intense smell, and pressure of the fog.

As he regained his footing he heard three screeches coming from the alleyways on each side of him, so he dashed into a nearby coffee shop that was completely empty, and ducked behind the counter. "Whatever is out there isn't friendly I can tell that." he said to himself, and continued to watch the door for movement.
