Not sure about that, Vester, but they did certainly know that shooting the king would be a one-way trip to Deathsville, Lincolnshire. And chances were the king would survive the shot anyway.
And that's probably why they went directly for cutting off the king's head and not shooting him with little arrows.

Hell no, this is a much better topic.

And anyway +1 to vester for not being pants-on-head retarded about the one weapon that is nearly as much overhyped as the bleedin' Katana.

Pff, my super-long bow can fire katana that proceed to not only pierce a fully armored knight, but also cut him in two at the boniest part of the body while pinning him against a wall of solid steel 20 feet away.

Ah yes, but is this due to the katana or the longbow? :P

Brilliant! This is an entirely new weapons system, katana and longbow united for mind-shattering ridiculosity! I propose a new name for this katana/bow device... kablow!

You know. We should expand on this. Fire greatswords out of the ballista and assortments of goblinite out of the catapult. It clears crap and murders things we don't like! it's win-win!

I do like the idea of a vast pressurised tank of magma at ground level which shoots gouts of magma in straight lines from floodgates in the cliff face. DF needs flamethrowers, or magmathrowers.

Flamethrowers would be pure win. Closest we can get is incendiary rounds.

I don't know, I could just imagine !!Blizzard Men!! going around and giving firey hugs. Living flamethrowers whose method of killing is love is way cooler.
