So I just started playing this game for the first time (and I suck at recruiting people) and I ultimately died after recruiting one person and stealing with my leader, which attracted the cops, who shot my head 3 times.

However, while doing that throughout playing (every minute or so) the screen occasionally just wiped itself of all the text. The application was still 'running' and a quick minimize and maximize fixed the problem. However, I really don't want to minimize and maximize every minute as it really breaks up the flow of gameplay. Any thoughts on why this happens and how to fix it?

Sometimes fullscreening WoW, while playing Curses games would cause this.

But yeah.

Well maybe it dosent matter cause I was playing today and I was fine... Weird.

Well after that one day where it did work I started playing again and the same problem happened. I'm starting to think the problem was never solved. I really want to play this game really bad, but it would be nice to play in fullscreen. As far as I am aware, it works fine when there is no fullscreen mode on.

The game runs through the Windows console, so if it's black while playing in fullscreen the bug is extremely likely to be in Microsoft's code and outside of the game's control.

I really don't want to do that. I can, but it isn't really preferred. My monitor isn't that big, and so the text can be a bit difficult to read sometimes (the biggest font size is a tad to big though). I will play around with fonts and window sizes and see what happens.

A bug in Microsoft's code? I have never heard of that before. Are there any other games that run through Windows console so I can test that? If another game works fine, it might be something to do with my antivirus blocking some files with odd names (lazy newb pack for dwarf fortress didn't work properly until I realized my antivirus was blocking certain files, and I added it to the exceptions).

P.S. My antivirus is Kaspersky. I am also using Windows XP professional, and my system is fairly high end (runs all games that currently exist).
