"Well, thankfully, we're not in Lonemine..."

But Kathos stopped drinking. He was starting to realise that he had not been that drunk for a few years. That wasn't good.

"But... I think you're right... Maybe we should go back to the... Palace..."

"Admittedly true, though I don't think you realize the resources at my disposal. What if I told you that I knew people that could, in theory, get them diplomatic immunity. And possibly political power..."

The barkeep laughs, heartily. "Diplomatic immunity? Yeah. Cause they really care about that. They answer to their God. And mages being people doesn't much count into their thoughts. Calling attention to themselves is bad. They want quiet lives, for the most part. The ones that don't? Well you wont find them cause most of them are dead.
You should finish your drink, lady. Forget this quest." He cleans the surface of the bar with a damp rag, drawn from somewhere below.

"Well, I guess it must be lucky that you're talking to the one that doesn't give a damn what the priests or even the archbishop says"

Laythe pulled her hood down, making her head as clear as day to be seen, though her bodyguards made sure that no-one outside the inn could see it.

"Laythe Ralia, recently desposed by a couple of troublesome nobles, and seeking revenge and my country back."

The barkeep doesn't even bat an eye. [5] But..something about him seems different, when he speaks.

"In town less than a season. Currently living here as a guest of Commander Eshir. Currently under the protection of 3 bodyguards, and followed by a team of no less than 8 tails. Deposed, means you ain't got any clout right now. That may change, but for now? All you are is one more body, possibly between a witch-hunter and a mage who revealed himself. "

"And you should probably finish up that drink, and leave."

Baroness De Plume, must die by my hand."

"All to agreeable sir. Now, if you might accompany to Marshall Nikephoros camp, to sign proper agreements?

Also, It'd be a shame for you to die, sir. Medical attention should be prompt."

A few moments later, she sent a quick horseman with guards to Nikephoros...

Quote
Marshall

It seems Sir Timothy has fallen afoul of one of De Plumes raids-he was found wounded and his estate in flames. He's agreed to our demands, assuming we allow him to kill the 'Witch' himself.

Our forces are tending to his. Yet, this all strikes me the wrong way. It seems too convenient for her to burn an allies manor on the day we are attacking and give us such a ready ally, and the seemed to retreat easily enough, as soon as we saw them. Keep our forces prepared for treachery, as always.

...I know De Plume personally. She could convince a man to burn down his manor if she thought it might bring her victory. She has her ways. If not, we would be fools to underestimate her.

   Tala Alanis

Action: Escort Timothy and his soldiers to the outskirts of our camp, wherever it is. Don't let them in. Send runners ahead to tell Nikephoros of what has happened.

Return to the palace

William waved the Waitress over, handed her several gold pieces as a tip, then winked at her as she smiled and left. He then unsteadily stood, and with a theatrical motion, gestured towards the exit.
"...F-Fine...

The Day after the attack, at Sir Timothy August's Estate.

Tala:
Unfortunately, you were unable to move Sir August. His personal physician, upon seeing his wounds declared that he was unfit to travel. After a tense night where firefighting duties were engaged in by August's troops, the fires were eventually put out.
Sir August invited you all to stay where you pleased, outside of his estate. The next day sees the arrival of Nikephoros Vandire and the remainder of the Ligorian field army.

Nikephoros:
This small collection of houses around the estate seem to have been recently ransacked. Ligorian troops are making camp a respectful distance from the estate itself. You can see at least two regiments of soldiers in what you assume to be August's livery are helping to patch up the houses and estate.

You two may now join forces and meet with Sir Timothy August at your leisure.
------
William and Kathos' Night Out
[?,?,?]
It is..a long journey back home. You both are having difficulty walking and must support each other/have the support of a few young lads from the bar. They ramble on about how they're the innkeeper's sons, and they often bring people home after a night such as you two just had. When they ask where you live and you both point to the palace they are shocked, but assist you there. All in all an uneventful night. However, there is a black spot prior to reaching the palace.. You two were clearly without escorts, and clearly not at the palace..
Kathos, you appear to have collected a spare guard's uniform and a dozen torches, and woken up in your own bed.
William, you appear to have collected several sets of keys and woke up in larder hugging a barrel. You also seem to have some unexplained bruises on your upper chest.

Laythe
The barkeep shrugs. "Did a favor for a fellow once, said he was a mage. Guess he turned out to be one."

William’s eyes opened and he quickly took stock of the situation he was in. The first thing he did was let go of the barrel and stand up. He ran his hand sleepily over his face and scratched his chin. His chest hurt a bit, but William was used to pain after a night of drinking, so he really didn't care about that. What did bother him was that he was in some larder and not his comfortable bed.
Ah... the joys of waking up hungover after a hedonistic drinking binge. What fun.

"Oh my head."

Exit the room. William will find out where the hell he is.

After the Wedding the öeaders of Ligoria had left him standing were he was, Ortwin figured he had gotten back his heirloom and decided to ride there.

Ortwin rides to the Bloodoak lands, trying to find the wife of his brother and figuring out why he died and in what condition the lands are...

Nikephoros and his troops have met with Tala at the August estate. He was surprised by the destruction, but ws infomred of the event by the letter brought to him by the runner before he arrived at the estate. He wasn't too much worried about the destruction of the buildings, but he was worried of the continous problems that De Plume seemed to be causing....

He dismounted the horse and told his soldiers make camp here. He then spoke to Tala.

Tala, I got your letter, and I am quite puzzled by the situation here. That woman might not command much forces, but she tries to make our life as difficult as possible. Either way negotiations are off. This land will be taken direclty into our custody once I have her in my hand."

Tala had listened...

"Let's hope he's still as agreeable as before, then. Do you want to meet him personally, yet? I can arrange a meeting on neutral ground between us for the creation of a temporary alliance of our forces."
