William's face shifts from concerned to really concerned. He goes slightly paler.
"Did this occur before or after the Hatcur Embassy arrived?"

Kathos looked at him. He knew what the other noble was trying to say.

"I heard no report of it before they arrived, but I did not have time to inspect my lands before they did."

He cleared his throat.

"Do you have any reason to believe they are... Related to the cropblight?"

"Perhaps...One of my fields caught a bit of Cropblight as those Hatcurs left, we burnt the field before it spread and we replanted it with uh...roses? I can't remember anymore....But its probably just a coincidence. Why would the Hatcurs infect our fields?"

A part of Kathos's mind was telling him this was probably a coincidence. Another part was willing to forget that.

"Well... Retcyl was eager to get rid of the problems in my lands by himself, and he informed the queen a little too quickly in my opinion... He might be trying to gain reputation... And to make us look like idiots. Why would he do it is the real question, however... I fear he might be trying to convince the queen he is not only an ambassador but also an ally and a servant... To get 'information' for his empire."

William shifts back in his seat.
"Diplomats are indeed spies with fancier titles...But why would The Hatcuri Empire care about Ligoria?  Why not Weyland, or Groan? Or Lone- William caught himself spectacularly,
"Galam? Those Countries are alot more powerful then Ligoria."

let the campfires burn brightly during the night then change uniforms to normal Weylandish Mercenary Uniforms and travel away during the night leaving the firest as they are. Got to Mileath (it's that Northernmost City State right?) and sell the furs. Enter openly and during the day, in case somebody is still following us. Wait a day or two then travel back to Galam. Ask for an audience.

Tell the other people to get jobs, but meet me outside the town once per week. Take all the druids and look for an apothecary or herbalist.

[X] You have no issues finding the herbalist, since they have a rather well-known shop in the city. She seems to have just finished with a client (who is strangely headed for Ligoria!).

The shop smells of an unknown number of intense and differing scents. She looks up as you enter the small shop, "Something i can help you with?"

Pay 0.5 ducats to have the cure for the cropblight, do not pay for any enhancement.

-.5d, plague resolved

Your messenger returns to your lands with the 'cure' from Shola. He distributes it among the affected farmers who apply the substance to their fields. Only time will tell if their fears are truly put to rest.

let the campfires burn brightly during the night then change uniforms to normal Weylandish Mercenary Uniforms and travel away during the night leaving the firest as they are. Got to Mileath (it's that Northernmost City State right?) and sell the furs. Enter openly and during the day, in case somebody is still following us. Wait a day or two then travel back to Galam. Ask for an audience.

[6+2] You manage 5.2d for the furs. You're quite pleased with the results of the sale.

[6] Your arrival in Galam startles the guards at the gate. They weren't expecting you to return, let alone in broad daylight asking for an audience. Then they realize - You don't know...

[5] You enter the office of Eshir to find Master Ives across from Eshir and an unknown man sitting in the back corner of the room. [4] You know something must have happened in the time you've been gone, you're suddenly rather paranoid about being in the room without your guards.

Eshir clears his throat and looks to you, from Ives, as you enter the room, "So, is this the man Ives?"

He nods, "It is, Sir."

Eshir leans back in his chair, "So..you're the man that led a raid on a peaceful town for no reason but to start a war?"

"I'd rather have my belongings brought to my quarters, thank you.", Avitus curtly objected.
Once set up in his room and his two coffers arrived, he started unpacking what was essentially an enormous pile of books and scrolls from one of them, and arranging them as well as he could in his new office/bedroom. "I'll have to buy a few bookshelves if I want this place to resemble a proper office.", he thought. After taking a short nap, he decided to call one of his two servants, a bodyguard named Henry that had been at his service since he left Vasir. He was a robust man, dressed in his usual livery, a black and purple velvet vest, and wearing a sword at his side.
"Henry, I want you to take a little walk around town, see what's going on in the nobility around here. On your way out of the Palace, ask an official or the Queen herself on my behalf for a list of any foreign diplomats currently staying in the Kingdom. I shall meet them later this week. In the meantime, try to gain as much information as you can on those diplomats. You may leave now." Henry nodded and left silently. Avitus then decided to tour the palace, hoping to bump into another guest.

Install an office in my quarters. Send a guard to: 1) Retrieve a list of foreign diplomats staying in Talama 2) Try and gather information on said diplomats and the most powerful nobles of the Kingdom. Walk around the Palace seeking for other guests.

"Yes, my lady," answered Oli'c. "My men and I are traveling monks, very much entranced by the works of nature. We seek work, or a place to ply our craft for our own benefit."

She appears nice, but I cannot tell, thought Oli'c. The air smells good in here, almost as back home, only with richer incenses. In the old days, this could have been me. Suulians!

"I see you have a wide variety of products in here," he said. "Where do you get them from?"

Talk to her, telling her we are men of nature, and then ask for work. After than, ask about where she gets he equipment from.

'Tala' was enjoying a small lunch in the palace gardens-a heady stew of red meat and potatoes, thank you-thinking about her next move-when she saw the greying man that was whispered to be the new arrival across the court. Well, introductions we're in order, then. She carefully cleaned her hands and face, and rose to intercept him.

Since the debacle at her party, she could not dress quite as extravagently as she may have wanted-todays ensemble was a soft green silk dress with a high collar and long skirt. She did spring for a small green beret, ankled rakishly of course.

She approached Avitus with a cautious smile, caught his eye, and spoke thusly.

"I don't think I've seen you here before. So many new faces-it's hard to keep up, frankly.

Welcome to beautiful Talama, sir. I am the Nobless Tala Alanis...and you are?"

Avitus couldn't help but show a bit of surprise when the green silouhette appeared before his eyes. He smiled politely at the young woman. "Ah! Someone, finally, I was about to abort my search for another being inside those walls. You are right young lady, we have not met, for I have only been in Talama for less than a day. As for it's beauty, I cannot speak yet, I didn't leave that Palace today. But I forgot something of the upmost importance: let me introduce myself. Avitus Traianus, former servant of the house of Vasir, and new counselor to your Queen."

The name floated in her memory...

"Well, it's a true pleasure to meet you, Sir Avitus. You'll find the Queen is very strict in her view of decorum and security-understandably so, but it does tend to make the castle a cheerless place at times. As for Talama, you will find equal measures beauty on the surface and ugliness underneath, If I may speak so frankly-but, it has a certain charm. Much like me, or you, or anyone. Sorry if I seem to rambling. I believe I've caught a certain fascination with the artistic circle lately-makes one long winded.

So, what duties has the Queen assigned you, if I can enquire? I know she just doesn't let anyone serve her Queendom, so you must be a man of some importance."

'Tala' gave the end a certain questioning tone.

"The pleasure is mine, miss... Alanis. Don't be mistaken, my first goal here is not to serve her highness, but rather to achieve a lifelong dream of mine: I have been offered financial help to create a university in Talama. My serving the Queen is just a mean to repay her kindness and make good use of my political skills while I plan my project. As for my exact function, her majesty entrusted me with diplomatic affairs, a charge I carried for almost ten years under the command of the Duke of Vasir. He observed a silence after that last sentence, his eyes staring at a mental image of his old home over Tala's shoulder. He then took a more joyful tone of voice and continued: Enough has been said about me, young lady! What does a noble miss do in this empty palace? Don't you have a family estate or lands? Or maybe it is the town and its life that you find most appealing..."

Patrol the townMax Yeskly rallies his men. He takes them on a patrol of the town making sure everything is safe and in order.
[3]Your men get a few odd looks walking around in arms and armour, but nothing too serious. [5]The town itself is absolutely safe. The streets are clean and well lit, and the only questionable activities on the streets are performed in the temples, where the law does not apply.

Quote
Goes to the archbishop and asks if ever job extra job will have pay Max Yeskly says, Great archbishop. For jobs such as escorts and raiding bandit camps will I be paid extra?"
[4]The Archbishop is mildly annoyed to be disturbed.
"Yes, yes. For dangerous tasks, we will provide a token of appreciation. Details will be handled when such jobs arise."

Just before you leave he thinks of something.

"I may have a job for you soon. You will be summoned when you are needed."

Quote
And finally he Goes to check what other forces reside in town
The larger temples have their own personal guards, and own land outside the city, much like noblemen in other city states. The centralised state has only a single regiment, the Archbishop's personal guards.
Together with your forces there are 6 regiments of troops at arms inside the city walls.
