William is now grimacing in pain as the adrenaline works its way out of his system.

"Look, I'd prefer not being impaled just because some noble is trying to play hero. Besides, Queen would kill you if you did leave..."

Kathos was now convinced the wounded was mad. He turned towards the guard.

"I sent my men to look for a doctor. Someone should come to help this man soon. I don't think he's in his right mind."

"I hear you. Still, go to Arven if you want to try and help catch that bloody thief."

William crumples into the dirt, unconscious from the pain.

Kathos smiled and looked at the guard.

"So... Do you know the name of this fool?"

"Uh, hang on..."

The guard thought for a few moments...

That changed a lot of things.

Wait until the guards come back with help for the wounded.

[6]Despite his words, you can tell that he is intrigued by your offer, and some of the less subtle bandits in the back are muttering to each other, obviously interested. On the other hand, some of the bandits simply look annoyed at your threats, and are eyeing up your guards, hands twitching.

Offer the bandits jobs as my army, enforcers, bodyguards, spies, etc. Tell them that they are experienced men and that is why I have chosen them. Also ask them why they went into banditry in the first place.

The bandits laugh when they hear you say this.
"Clearly you haven't met Queen Psychobitch. She may not have reach outside the city, but she will never grant us bandits pardon, and if she finds out someone has, she would probably hunt us down herself. And don't you worry about our families. They either work along side us, or are long dead. Psychobitch saw to that when she took the throne. Haven't you heard? Went on a killing spree. Those who opposed her either fled, or died. We are the ones that fled."

"Well I guess there is no harm in telling you all this; the queen will be deposed by a distant family member. A boy from Groaning...He is not age as of yet but we have high hopes him...And he's not a "Pyschobitch". The queen will be dead within 3 years, and then the new king shall pardon you all."


Complete, and utter lies. But humans usually had a hard time reading a hatcuri's face unless they were specifically trained to do so.

Retcyl takes a sip of wine. "With foreign aid, of course. It is obvious I am not native...My empire has pledge support, as well as Groaning and Korlan."

"Why would we, you may ask. For overall strategy, of course. The current queen is...sadistic and well not someone we want to deal with. Replacing her with her distant cousin works much better for us. And you won't be returning to the fields, I need all of you as permanent soldiers or spies, if you so wish."

"As for the boy, well you haven't heard of him because he's the queen's father's 6th cousin's nephew's child. That part of the family has been falling on hard times for some time already...And they have little influence. But they're still nobility, just very very obscure."


Tell them that the boy is a distant family member and his branch of the family has been falling into poverty and obscurity for some time now. The queen is being overthrown via an alliance between Hatcur, Korlan, and Groaning for strategic purposes. They won't return to the fields, but serve as soldiers or spies.
