Tala twirled her hair, thinking. She had wanted the wedding to be massive, magnificent, mellifluous...massive green silk tents and hundreds of entertainers and a grand feast and a ride-by from the entire Royal Cavalry division and...

But she saw the look on Pashas face. He wanted this, and she had the idea they could have been married in the cave and he would have been the happiest man in the world.

She sighed.

"You're right. Maybe I've been going about this the wrong way. I wanted something amazing, grand and beautiful for us...to try and reflect how I feel. But...it wouldn't be right.

Not now-with the people of Ligoria hurting so much."

Tala remembered the faces in the crowd as she had returned home-they had torn at her heart. Maybe she did care for the people of Ligoria more than a mere spy should have...

She turned to Pasha and took him in her arms, smiling. It was something a relief to be spared all the planning, actually, not that she had let it all go-and this showed on her face.

"...I suppose we can get by with only half of the Royal cavalry riding by, anyway. Day after tomorrow, my love. Then we'll be married."

Pasha smiled in relief, although he still felt a little guilty. She had probably wanted something extravagant; hell, he wanted something extravagant. This - She, rather - was the best thing to ever happen to him and he wanted everyone to know it, whether or not they cared. But at the same time, he would feel guilty about the occasion, like he was showing off how happy he was and how lucky he was while the people of Ligoria had lost loved ones and were facing numerous woes... like he was still an irresponsible drifter, doing whatever he wanted. He couldn't be like that anymore, for Tala's sake if nothing else.

"Then tomorrow, we'll take a trip to the barracks and give 'em a day to prepare. I don't think you should settle for only half the cavalry..." he said, returning her hug. "The sun hasn't quite set yet and we still have all of tomorrow to rush something together, too." Pasha smiled. In a way, setting a definite time was almost ... freeing. In two days they would exchange rings and vows. It would be a fresh start for both of them... for the country, too, with a new rule. A better one, not beholden to blood but to ability. The way it should be.

"Things will only get better from here, I promise."

Put the unlit gunpowder bags into the flour bags and conceal them in there and then vacate the area and use the back ways and alleys  to avoid the crowds and head towards the other boat. Once there scope out how many sentries are now standing guard. Send the Crimson Guardsman that isn't doing anything to go back and get the rest of the Guards,as well as try to get to the Hatcur afterwards to get their assistance in the matter with the following request, with the orders to render aid to the people in the dock area as necessary(I.E assist in cleanup, render medical aid to any survivors, and so on) until a sign by William that they should flee, flight or assist William, is made.((But of course wait for Thatkid to post beforehand.  :P ))

He then continued to follow along with Oswald, watching William's back and, if safe to do so, assassinating the captain of the next ship once they're on board.

[543536] ((thats a little safer - also going to take a few liberties based on the last orders since this rollset went better))

You manage to conceal the bags quite easily as you all slowly flee the area. When the next ship in in sight, you notice that there are few men in the area. One of Terryn's men has an idea, discusses it quickly with everyone and runs off. Soon after you see him coming around the long way shouting something at the ship guards - who then run off with him following, every so slowly and eventually stops.

"Should buy us a few minutes unmolested..."

You all head onboard the ship and below deck. The captain is no where to be seen and there doesn't seem to be anyone else on board either. You plan another present and bail from the ship.

A similar explosion, another ship down - and this time your men are smart enough to bail as soon as possible from the area. A crowd circles around this ship as well, no one seems to be paying attention that you're around. Someone in the crowd appears to be the Captain of this ship. He spends a great many minutes cursing the ship, the sea and (by extension) - you.

You hear a few crewmen of various other ships starting rumors already - and begging their superiors to leave port. Some comply immediately, a few don't seem worried. Two of those not worried are simple merchants, another is a smuggler - though minor and part-time. Seeing the pattern forming, that Captain informs his crew that they have roughly an hour to gather everyone they can before they leave.

"One place left...Come on. William glanced at Terryn.

Head towards the dry dock where the smugglers keep their headquarters, keeping to the shadows and trying not to be seen. Check out how many sentries there are and if they can be taking down without arousing alarm, if they are, do so. Then wait for further orders. If there isn't, make note of their locations and William and Co. will wait for further orders.

"Oh, nothing too hard...I need your men to protect me, and in extension the city of Talama, you know, in Ligoria?"

Retcyl glanced at the mercenaries across the room, trying to make it seem as if he was considering them.

"The city lacks warships of any kind, making it a simple task to just head in, raid the docks, and leave...Don't get any ideas about it."

Retcyl took a sip of beer, and continued. "Of course, I may also need your services in hunting down certain ships and helping me with some delicate tasks...But for the most part, the job will be having you protect a city's docks. Think about it; its easy, simple, and pays well enough. And if you like some honour or glory to your name, I'm sure that could be arranged."

Retcyl glanced at the faces of the escort's crew. Just some sailors enjoying themselves...

"So, how does it sound? Deal? "

Describe the job for the escort. Make it clear that the job is mostly protecting Talama's dock and aiding Retcyl in a few...delicate tasks.

[461] The trip to the docks is uneventful, few seem to be in the area since many are out looking at the exploding ships - or simply leaving Polca at this point. The sentries are numerous, but seem to be paying little attention despite the commotion - from what you can overhear, they don't seem to know what's going on. You see that your odds of 'stealth' any nearer to the dock are slim if not none. You can tell however that they're all well armed as if they've been expecting trouble in the near future.

The Captain considers your offer for a few moments [4] and agrees to accompany you to Talama. Chilling in the port looking spiffy will likely run the crew's seasonal upkeep [4] +10% for expenses (read 'booze and wenching' cash). Being an escort crew, they do expect to -be- paid seasonally.

Sir Terryn Selgvyrdson considered the situation for only a moment. "We'll not get another distraction like the last, and there's no sneaking. But we've got the numbers, and you've got that crossbow. If this really is the last, I say we simply take them out and finish it."

...It was going to be the last day of summer-the Sun would be somewhat lower in the sky, and the heat slowly giving way to chill of autumn, as it always must. With neither extreme ruling, it was very pleasant.

Today was the day Tala Alanis and Pasha Dolgrouki were to be married.

In the center of Talama, the altar has been set in the market square-around it, seats for the favored guests. The entire thing had taken on something of a festival like atmosphere...peddlers and cartsmen had arrived days before, claming out choice spots to hawk their flowers, candy, snacks and trinkets. The Guards were out in force-and so were the scoundrels and pickpockets, but today both sides seemed somewhat lax in their endless back and forth troubles. The Inns and Pubs have tripled their usual stock of food and drink, and dusted off their best vintages, knowing this day is an opportunity for brisk business-and not to be missed.

Next would come the people of the city, in all their colors and hues-priests, brick layers, soldiers, bakers, stablers, traders...no one is barred from entering today. There are some even more exotic guests, most likely friends of the soon to be wed.

Notable among them would include who most assume the recently exiled William Varaum and his retinue of Crimson Guards (and a pretty blonde woman who is assumed to be his consort), a probable Udanese Noble, a swaggering Pirate captain with one eye and a charming wit, an abnomally tall man who seems to bear a permanent scowl (rumored to be Matthew Turin), a silent swordsman from the East and a shockingly pretty woman in a scandalous silken black and dark red dress and a plunging neckline (all the better to accenture her decollage), with long black hair in five braided tails and cold blue eyes-the Bandit Queen Baroness De Plume, who most are quite shocked showed up in the midst of her likely enemies with no visible bodyguards. That's her style, though.

A few brave diplomats are also attending-some from the Hacturi Empire, seeking to restablish ties, but most from the Storm Coast itself-it seems every lord managed to spare a second cousin to serve as representive. Even a cringing ambassador of the Marlax Estate will show up, but be swiftly rejected from the gates before being allowed to enter, for reasons known only to a few.

On the other side, a surprising number of prominent military commanders of the Storm Coast are showing up-some to congratulate Pasha, their former captain, others to perhaps seek employment, forge alliances under the new regime..most of them are in full kit and with their own squadrons of personal guard-Julian Pyre with his constant good cheer, Jonathan Allworthy bearing his limp with pride, Sir Terryn-commander of the Hedge Knights, and the Milia Don Wells-Daughter of the honored Vander Don Wells, now deceased-Gods rest his soul. A suprising number of somber women from out-of-town have also shown up, those who can say they laid claim to the heart of Pasha Dolgrouki, if only for a short time, each wishing him to see him off in their own personal way...

Some distance away, in the central park, Hugo's Pavilion was being prepared for the after wedding feast-Notably absent today was the Queens statue, battered into rubble by an angry populace with hammers and pickaxes, and dragged away to be remade into cobblestone for the roads. All that remains now is the base-her two stony boots, covered over with a shabby tarp.

For most, the clear blue sky to come will surely be a good sign-for many young lovers, taking advantage of the pageantry to have something truly memorable, have decided to also be married today, and extra priests of the various religions and shrines that dot the areas around the square have already begun practicing their sermons. A second noble marriage, later in the day is taking place-after the crowds have thinned-of Erin Antalagila and Becca Spring, both having recently recovered from a shocking and dastardly murder attempt...

A day of rebirth for Ligoria, perhaps-talk of expansion into new lands, of changing ways and good days ahead. The bleakness that had descended over Ligoria is lifted, if only for awhile. Everyone knows it will take more than the tender hearts of starcrossed lovers to make the Homeland strong again.

But, that's all later.

For now, it is still mostly dark-and a few miles away, Pasha and Tala stand on the battlements of the castle in each others arms, watching the Sun come up in all it's resplendent glory.

Spoiler: btw (click to show/hide)

William gestured towards the building, with a small smile upon his lips.

"Tell us what to do..."

William will follow Terryn's lead and commands, unless it severely injures/kills him or the majority of his current guards.

"Which of you men can carry that bag in there, and then get out the fastest?" Terryn asked, motioning to the bag of explosives, "You'll wait for us to open a gap with our fighting, and then get in there and finish the job."

The Mercenary Commander drew his longsword as quietly as possible, and Oswald readied his throwing axes in the same swift motion. "Sanguine, give that crossbow to whoever has the best shot. They'll hang back and take choice shots, make sure none of us get surrounded or overwhelmed." He paused a moment, taking a deep breath, and then slowly began to walk forward. "The rest of you, follow my lead. We're going in and out fast, don't engage any one man for too long unless you know you can kill 'im. We're gonna drift away from the dock, hopefully they'll give chase and that'll buy our man an opening and some time."

This was a tactic that Terryn was not entirely sure they could pull of. They certainly didn't have the equipment or the training to initiate such a thing, but with such small numbers maybe it didn't matter. He hoped it didn't matter. But if it did, Terryn was prepared to disengage with Oswald sooner rather than later, hopefully rescuing Sanguine in the process. He wasn't going to stick his neck out for this job.

William nodded and wordlessly handed the crossbow to a female Crimson in the back, gestured to one of the bulkier Guards who shrugged and handed the bag of flour and explosive to another Guard. William approached this man and pulled out a few bottles of velvet wrapped whisky from his pack and slipped them into the bag of flour.

"Make sure you remove the gunpowder from the bag beforehand, and to put it on top of the flour."

Follow Terryn's orders.

Franz get's up and flees through the ally ways to the Bleeding Scales.

[6] Franz flees through the town, managing to escape before the Guards or reinforcements from the Noughts can arrive, but several people have seen him, and would most likely be able to make a positive identification later, or gods forbid a sketch of his face for wanted posters.
[4] He's pretty sure no one followed him, as he manages to arrive back at the Bleeding Scales.
[1] Franz has no clue on who the gang thinks hired the Hitman on Awaila.
[3-1] The guardsmen want to bring Franz in for questioning on the murder of a few people, a Hatcur and a small toy dog. As well as few minor crimes. [1] They have wanted posters up.
