Ite studies the gun and draws a detailed schematic of it. Then he reads through the instructions and attempts to divine the purpose of each part. Once he has done so, he sketches the individual bits and pieces of the gun.
[3] You feel comfortable with the device that you can dismantle and reassemble it given time and proper tools. When you've managed to do this a few times, you start to sketch all the pieces of the device over several pages of parchment.
Thomas begins to practice his magic (specifically, control) in secret.
((Given the was 3 weeks ago, i made a few rolls for it))
You spend many nights attempting to learn better control of your talents. The hardest part is doing so without anyone finding out, [5/4/3/4/2] which you seem quite capable of doing, being interrupted only once. Eventually you manage a number of successes(+20,10,20,10) and only burning yourself that one time (-10). You're getting better, just slowly...
Skill Progression:
Spellcasting (Control): 0 [50/100]
Continue doing nothing of note.
[6+2] You're apparently very skilled at doing nothing. You do it so well that people think you're a mythical beast of patience and self-control.
Agree to the merchant's proposal and take his goods to Vasir.
[5] The goods from the merchant are sold at a decent price. For what was apparently a few crates of Iron, the contact the merchant had dropped a bag of coins off with you totalling 4.42d. The port's dockmaster already took taxes from the totals. The dockmaster looked at the merchant's contact rather questioningly given the cargo he purchased. The merchant had sent a man with you to collect the 4d spent on the goods provided, who took his master's cut, leaving you [5] 1.2d. Apparently he was instructed to pay the sales taxes for you provided you made good time to Vasir

Order ships to set sail for the island. Send a messenger bird to the Emperor's Court with the message attached.
You decided to make for the island before dispatching the bird, hoping that it would remember the way back. [4] Even making best speed and tailwinds, it will be weeks before the bird ever reaches the Emperor - if at all. You figure you won't see a reply until at least spring
