Hm, there seems to have been a big burst of them around February and March, and all of those ones seem to be advertising DS flashcards in their sigs... but with 0 posts.  There's been a bunch of others since then advertising other stuff and they seem to have moved on to other products.

The thing that concerns me is how they seem to be lying dormant with 0 posts each.  It's like an apocalyptic spam wave could be unleashed some day (unless they're making a curiously huge list of birthdays to attract people and get them to look at their signatures and that's their advertising, in which case bravo that's extremely subtle).

It's probably just to have those links there, for Google rankings and such; a dormant spambot won't get deleted, and making tonnes of them is not an issue.

I just feel as if they're waiting for a hidden signal to rush out and begin posting with abandon, freezing the memory of B12forums.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Perhaps on the very day of .26's release.

It looks like I haven't entered my own birthday.  (Or not on the correct day, by error or design...  I'll check later which it is.)  But there are 13 people (more likely 12, given that a pair look the same with a small username difference), mentioned upon the date concerned, including a 900+-year-old, some of whom I recognise, but certainly can't claim Toady as a birth-brother. :)

Funny, that is my sister's birthday.

Is she a 36 year old woman from Huntington, NY, US?
