First of all, here is the save. Just keep in mind what I posted earlier about it.

Kipi, that was an awesome first try for our dorfed military.  Sorry to ask so much of you, but can you compile a kill list?

Sure!

Melee dwarves:

Spoiler: Edmus (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Jacen (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Bowie (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Derm (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Nix (click to show/hide)

Archers:

Spoiler: Conchobar (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Letterdimpled (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Anvilhall (click to show/hide)

There were few snatchers and thieves during the siege as well, so that's why some of you got other kills besides goblins and vikings.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.

I'll take Dastosk EDIT Dakost Lightninganvil, or whatever the holy-caste infant is. If when he grows up, he will beg to be a smith, hoping to forge a mighty bronze spear charged with the Gods' power. Chances are, he'll be forced into being a priest, but then he'll try to turn the fortress into a Church Militant theocratic place. Hilarity ensues.
EDIT: Nickname him Thurist. Thor+Urist, see?

8th of Slate, year 105

We decided to move our garbage dump inside. There is just enough room outside after the siege and I don't want to risk another weak spot in our defenses due construction site. I know that was the achilles' heel last winter.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

11th of Slate, year 105

We decided to execute some of our prisoners to free up some cages. Eight cages containing our enemies were hauled to the arena and Derm's squad was ordered to prepare for slaughter.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

When everything was ready and squad inside the lever was pulled once again. The battle was over quickly and the enemies slaughtered. No wounds were made to our soldiers, which can be explained by the disarming of the enemies. Derm killed a drow and goblin, just like Jacen did,  Edmus killed one drow, and Nix killed one drow and goblin. Bowie managed to kill the remaining drow.

We have already begun the preparations for slaughtering the wild dogs sitting our cages as well. But that will have to wait a bit more.

17th of Slate, year 105

One of our dwarves produced an artifact today. It's earring made from opal and decorated with opal.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

20th of Slate, year 105

Another group of migrants arrived today. Twenty-two dwarves entered our fortress, hoping to join our community.

Now that our population is well over one hundred and fifty dwarves it's time to consider proper housing. This huge project has already been started in priest quarters. After those bedrooms are ready we shall move to noble quarters and warrior quarters. After all these are ready we shall start mining out the peasant quarters.

7th of Felsite, year 105

The sleeping quarters for our priests are ready. Several empty rooms exists so that we can quickly assign new rooms for any new priests.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

16th of Felsite, year 105

The elves are here again. And we shall give them the same treatment as we did to other merchants they sent here.

This time there were five merchants. It seems that each passing year they sent more and more merchants here even though none of them ever returns. That's a bit strange in my opinion. Nevertheless, it was time to slaughter some elves again. And this meant guiding them to the depot, which has so far seen more deaths than trading.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Five merchants, five warriors. The result? Five dead merchants, five excited warriors.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The five warriors are Derm "The Round Sockets" Kindlingabbeys, Jace "The Clear Volcano of Dyes" Channelivy, Bowie "The Meeting of Shields" Tomeshail, Nix "The Heroic Ring of Canyons" Slinglash and Edmus Channeledquakes.

Okay, all the dwarvings have been done. Ahra doesn't have the proper equipment yet but that's something which should be solved soon enough. When it's done you shall join the legendary squad "Golden Depressions", commanded by Derm Soulchopper himself... ;D

21st of Felsite, year 105

The goblins are here again!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Fortunately our archers were able to keep them away. One goblin died during the infiltration attempt and one crow got injured. That crow is one of our pets but fortunately not claimed by any dwarf. I think that poor bird won't survive...

23rd of Felsite, year 105

When several of our dwarves went outside to pick up the stuff and ammo left by goblins they spotted another ambush squad of goblins.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It was already looking good and we were sure that all of our dwarves could return the safety without being injured when third goblin ambush squad was spotted, this time effectively blocking the route to the entrance from the two dwarves still outside.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The two poor dwarves were slaughtered immediately.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At this point the Golden Depressions squad was called to arm themselves and rush towards the entrance. First of the five dwarves who arrived the scene of battle was Derm, who immediately went and slaughtered two goblins.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The goblins were already running in fear but this didn't stop Derm. No, instead he went and chased down two goblins more and butchered them to small pieces. This brought his number of notable kills to thirty-eight, which is really formidable. The squad was also ordered to station outside the bridge to ensure the safety of hauling all the items and corpses inside.

1st of Hematite, year 105

Everything has been so quiet outside that I ordered the Golden Depression to get back inside for good hot meal and tankard or two of ale. The hauling is almost complete and there is only a very minor chance of something actually happening. I prefer to have happy soldiers instead of keeping them stationed outside.

2nd of Hematite, year 105

To honor our heroic soldiers I have ordered the construction new, better barracks complex. The complex includes the main area, which will serve as training area, sleeping quarters for each and every soldier, dining rooms connected to bedrooms for each and every soldier and offices for squad leaders. Later we shall expand the training area to contain archery ranges as well.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

16th of Hematite, year 105

The squad Golden Depressions has grown by one dwarf as Ahra was allowed to join their ranks. He was given full adamantine armor, shield and spear, just like wished for. I already knew he was going to join the squad even though the official decision came few moments ago. This means that the equipment he was given was already ready and his personal quarters were included to the original plan of the barracks complex.

Alright, even though it isn't visible in the pictures I posted Athra died during the series of ambushes. I will probably reformat the second post and the dwarf listing a bit so that claimed dwarves have their own list, dead dwarves have their own as children have and finally there will be a huge list of all unclaimed dwarves of each migrant wave.

Also I noticed that one of the pictures (the one which was supposed to contain the deaths of the two dwarves) includes the announce of dead cat instead of the second dwarf. Just to note everybody that I'm aware of the mistake which can't be fixed anymore...

EDIT:
The new version of dwarf listing has been posted on the second post. If you see any mistakes in there please tell me and I will fix it.
