1st of Granite, year 101We have arrived to our destination! And it's flat, completely flat. Why weren't we sent to mountain or even on top of hill? All this flatness is not dwarfy.
All of us are in good shape even though we traveled literally to the other side of known world. We still have lots of supplies left so I think it's time to start building the fortress.
On the side note, we spotted a small group of elephants east from us on the northern bank of the river. Perhaps we shouldn't disturb them just yet?
2nd of Granite, year 101The first tasks were assigned; Humortower begun cutting trees to clear space for proper entrance and our miners begun to work underground.
Me, Sunnymines and Pagedentered, we are hanging near the wagon, drinking the booze and waiting. Kindlingabbeys also joined us after he picked his weapon and armor so that he is prepared in case those damned elephants decides to pay a visit. Doubtful but you can never know for sure. Always be prepared, that's our motto and that's why our civilization is more powerful than any other.
24th of Granite, year 101Our miners have already dug to second floor of the fortress and cleared a good landing zone down there. Next they will start working with farming area and food stockpiles.
They spent nearly a month mining that area out, which was explained by all the complains of damp soil. I actually had to tell them several, perhaps even dozen of times that the damp was caused by the small pools above them and there would be no danger. But did they believe me? No, instead they were cancelling the mining almost immediately I turned my back to them. Whiny bastards, and they dare to call themselves dwarves?
28th of Slate, year 101After two months we finally have a small farm ready. I tell you, our miners aren't the most efficient ones. Two months and we have hardly anything ready? No acceptable, definitely not acceptable.
So, as the farm is ready it means Pagedentered finally has to work. Heh, no more hanging around the wagon for him, that's sure.
