Hi guys! Thanks for the replies. I have considered a few ways we can do this-
We can set up 4-6 "times" to try to be on, so we can play together no matter where we live we can try to get one of the playtimes in your timezone. In the fort, we can do our chosen roles (just like in DF where you can assign any dwarf a role, but we could limit the tools to simulate skill levels- ie you can only use a stone pick until we decide you "level" and can use a iron one, then a diamond, etc.etc.) and try to build a Pre-layed out fortress either in the ground or in the side of a mountain. That way, everyone gets a chance to play.
We could even assign 2 players to be goblins, and they could raid at any of the set "times" that we have (for example, lets say we agree that we have 5 "times" GMT -6, GMT -3, GMT, GMT +3, GMT +6. The goblins can Only attack at these times but players could add to the fortress whenever. Btw those were just garbage times, we would all have to agree on the timezones) That way, we can simulate Goblin raids but still have some Idea when it will hit instead of gobbos just greifing an empty fort. For added bonus, the first 2 gobbos have to find the fort
Then, after we shift gobbos (ie pick 2 or 3 more players to be gobbos, then the old gobbos become dwarfs) the others can "know" about it based on the original two gobbos spreading the word (much like how goblin ambushes happen frequently after the first attack, everyone knows that the fort exists) There could be rules on what gobbos can destroy and such. But, This would make Real traps valuable just like in DF. And random creeper, spider, zombie, and skeleton attacks can help simulate the random mobs that attack, since the fort needs a food source. Sorry for the long post, and I hope it conveyed my ideas right. What do you guys think?
I think it would be really neat to give it a shot
EDIT: I am GMT -4.00 (New york)
