I remember enjoying Patrician many years ago. Open ended, where you play as a merchant, but later on can start fighting pirates, buying out parts of a city, upgrading your city, pleasing nobles. That concept's quite used now, but back then it was rather fresh. If you enjoyed Anno and The Guild, it's most likely your kind of game. I haven't tried out the more recent versions, but you could probably try to look for some old abandonware version to see if you like it.

I think I tried it a few years ago, it's a patrician-like, but can't remember it very well.

You mean the first game in all it's unbelievable epicness?
Or the crappy sequel that was dumbed down so much, even the stone statues on Eastern Islands could beat it in no time?

Both, but If I remember correctly, the main problem with the second one was its buginess. I was so in love with one of the song tho, the main theme I think

Played all of the games you guys proposed, also tried caravaneer, it was pretty good for a flash game ! Also bought Startopia for 5€, waiting for the delivery!
Thanks for all the proposals

You found somewhere to buy Startopia?! Huh...

I've bought it at least three times so far so now I just download it.

It's like a slower version of Patrician. If you played Patrician you won't enjoy this

There's Machiavelli the Prince.

But it's old as balls, and ugly.

Actually I feel tempted, and I kinda like this kind of graphics? Also it looks like it's available as abandonware, gonna dl it, thanks!

New suggestion: Fort Zombie

Classic zombie apocalypse. You claim a safehouse. Barricade it. Find food, weapons, armors, ammo and help other survivers escape. Pathfinding is horrible but it's a great game.

Sorry I disagree. I don't like Patrician very much (although I tried them all *I'm sure* I can only remember the latest, Part 3 I guess?) but I loved Port Royale 2 very much. I wasted a few days on that game :)

Yep. fantastic game. Was pretty rough on launch but they've fixed a lot of the problems and now its a lot of fun.

I can say its more graphicy and simplistic looking.

Uncharted Horizons I&II (SNES)  I think thats the name.

Correction: If you played Patrician and liked it you won't enjoy this.

People who like Patrician tend to dislike Port Royale and vice versa.

It's a bit laggy on my computer. It can run Crysis just fine but my computer can't endure the perfect graphics of Fort Zombie I guess.

Huh, when was the last time you played? I had a lot of slowdown on release but the latest patch clears it up. Maybe an issue where the game doesn't like your hardware or something? Unfortunate though, it really is a fun game and the team has put a lot of time into improving it that they didn't need to and didn't get paid for.
