Urist McDwarf cancels Drink: Interrupted by Centaur Hammerman

Hey, I'm really new to this game and what not and I've been having a big problem.

Okay so what happened is a siege was pulled by a load of Centaurs (I believe Centaurs are alive in this game because of a mod) so because my fort was still very basic, I covered up the entrance with a wall but the problem is that now all the Dwarfs are thirsty but aren't drinking any thing because of the Centaurs who are stuck outside.

Best I can suggest is draft your less useful dwarves, and send them at them with whatever they have (picks, axes, etc) to kill off theremaining horsefolk.

Agreed on drafting the non useful dwarves into a makeshift militia. Also look in future to supplying your forts with booze stockpiles inside the fort and a functioning well so you can wait out sieges indefinitely.

Right, a rope, bucket, and block are pretty cheap/easy to make.  Re-route a river to a reservoir, get a grate to block non-building destroyers, and you'll have a never ending supply of clean water.

When I started off, I frequently ignored booze. In my first few forts I even failed to recognize what made subterranean plots available. I can really recommend to start a plump helmet farm right away, as soon as you find soil as clay, loam or whatsitcalled. They can eat it, they can drink it (once brewed) - what is there, that pioneers need else?

Water is important, true, but booze keeps them really going. Consider you water supply later but it's good to have a plan for that. If you got aquifer, your day has just gone gold. (In terms of water supply).

As for the hippie hammermen outside, just give 'em hell. Shoot them, maim them, swarm them. You can alway reclaim if it fails.

Actually maybe not. I can't find the Centaurs any more and people have started to drink and party again but it still says I'm under Siege.
