Dear Overseer Melissa,

Wit all doo respect, I don' need yer classes and don' rightly appreciate this nasty attitude of yers.

'sides, I just recently sharpened me axe.

Sencerely,

A grumpy axedwarf.

Dear Urist McGrouchyAxeDwarf,

In order to improve your mood, the council of overseers has commissioned a cake baked by our legendary cook, Urist McTastyFood.  The cake has been placed in a small cage in the room to prevent anyone from eating it.  To remove the cage, pull the BLUE lever.  To close the door, pull the RED lever.  To lock the door, pull the GREEN lever.   Under no circumstances are you to pull the MARBLE lever in the back of the room.

You have been warned.

Enjoy your cake.  And then you will be expected to attend your two (2) classes in a better mood.

(Urist McGrouchyAxeDwarf cautiously pulls the blue, red and green levers and waits for the cage to lift to reveal the cake.  He considers pulling the marble lever.)

[The door shuts, and locks.]
[Both levers fall apart after use.]
[The cage opens up, revealing a Fiend of Cake, made out of iron with cake skin, it undulates rythmetically.  Beware its decaying dust!]

That's evil.  So what's the marble lever do?

I've found six (SIX!) different magnetite veins the same size as the one I found before that I was excited about.

So yeah.  Iron won't be a problem... coke will.  I really need to finish that damnable magma pump.... all of my iron deposits are near the surface...

Sure, but then I'll have half the goddamned fort dragging magnetite down fifty something levels of stairs instead of doing their goddamned jobs.

DFhacks autodump can teleport your entire ore quota onto one tile if you want to get it done fast >.>

dig a vertical hole all the way down to magma-forges, and garbage-dump the magnatite over the pit using a 1-tile zone.

[edit] sorta ninja'd but mine doesnt use DFHack [/edit]

I used autodump... meh.  It's a ton of magnetite lol.  Probably many tonnes actually.

Going to build a few magma smelters down there and forbid the smelters above while I get my magma pump stack working.

-.-  I used dfhack's reveal function to carve out some warm stone that was in no danger of being magma'd without getting craptons of messages, then accidently saved before doing unreveal... fack!

Okay, I got frustrated.  So I opened up the circus.

For some reason, my mayor still had "conduct meeting" even as she picked up her axe and stormed into hell itself.  I guess she was practicing some old-fashioned dwarf-style diplomacy with the demons.

So far, the dwarves have given better than they've gotten.  Two axelords (of five) lost, two marksdwarves (of five) lost, 3 hammerlords (of five) lost, 4 fortress guard (of five) lost, 12 speardwarves (of 20) lost, three swordsdwarves (of ten) lost.  Total 26 deaths.  30 demons killed.   Momuz, the utter badass she is, killed quite a few demons of fire before she bled to death from being on fire.

Several demons died in a rather silly fashion.  They broke down the barriers holding back the magma and water in my checkerboard trap.  So... they trapped themselves in obsidian.

One demon was apparently playing kick the baby for a few rounds, using a dwarf baby as a soccer ball.

A child became adult in the fight, and became the mayor and sole survivor.  I changed that by sending him to his doom to avenge his father.  He didn't.
