Yeah, it was a cakewalk.  Currently checking my militia for injuries.

Oooh, another of my axedwarves became an axelord.  That's two.  How come my axe squad, which was formed MUCH later than my hammer squad, gains experience so fast?  Damn.

Aww, one of my dwarves has a broken spine.  But for some reason this is listed as "no health problems"....

Also, the goblins carried TONS of silver arrows.  So I guess my marksdwarves just got a new supply of ammo.

ah... right.  Arrows, not bolts.

Still, it's plenty of silver bars for me!

IIRC, it's "no health problems" until the CMD makes a diagnosis, unless the injury is causing immediate symptoms.  And I think you have to do a mod to get spine/nerve damage to heal.

And your axe guys probably level faster because they chop up goblins efficiently compared to hammer or spear dwarves.  Also, is your axe squad smaller and thus doing more sparring than the other squad?  (I currently have two Axe Lords, no Sword Lords for approximately that reason.)

How are your goblins gearing up?  They generally have copper and iron in some ratio; using caps, shields, and some breastplates.  Though in the current fort I have I'm seeing them using more leather armor and copper caps so far - as compared to seeing a lot more copper and even iron breastplates in a different fort.  (And even further back a fort where they had no iron at all - and neither did I.)

Oooh, my first gobbo siege.

So far, fifteen copper bowmen, one iron crossbowmen.

All of them have bow level 4 (including the crossbowman),  and level 1 of other combat skills.  My dwarves are much better trained than this, though the actual trained and equipped dwarves are fewer in number (five hammerdwarves, five axedwarves, all fully kitted with iron armor and steel weapons).
My forts always fall to 82 man sieges. I always get forgotten beasts that are made of vapor, and get killed by kittens.

For my gobbos... so far it's been..

Normal iron/copper mask, iron/copper helm, iron/copper weapon.
Fine leather armor.
Normal leather everything else.
Normal iron/copper/bronze/brass/silver/etc ammunition.

I'm actually giving the leather armor for my spear dwarves to wear.  Yes, I know, leather and iron mail shirt isn't the greatest, but I want to equip them cheaply.

Okay, magma leak.  If it's just 1/7, the magma will evaporate right?

Wait, how did cave crocodile blood get mixed in with my magma?  Did one try to take a hot bath or something?

My pump stack construction is going by a bit slower than I wanted.  Ah well, that's life.

Still, I almost have the reactors finished:

Let's see if I manage this.

Weirdly, the evaporated magma is turning into blood.  Uhm.  Armok, are you playing a practical joke on me?

My guess would be that a cave croc fell into your magma at some point so the magma is 'soiled' with blood. When the magma evaporates it leaves behind the contaminants.

Kind of an odd bug but...it makes sense in a strange way.

I dont think that it would be recognizable as blood anymore.

Logically, no. But considering the way the game stores contaminants, that's my best guess on why this is happening.

It doesn't make sense from a 'realism' standpoint, but from a programming standpoint it does.

Gonna break from DF mode to play adventure mode again for laughs.

Let's see how far the elf Melissia Blackheart will get!

edit:  obviously I won't be reporting the adventure mode as closely in this thread as I do the DF mode.
