It's not too surprising Chattox.

They both run on the Source engine and are both developed by the same company. It wouldn't be weird for them to share resources.

Really though leaks are so common in the gaming world these days this is likely to have no real effect. If ep3 does have a flamethrower though that's pretty cool. Hopefully it's a good one and not a crappy standard video game flamethrower.

They don't need to share resources as such. I'd guess it's a reference to Episode 3 promo content in DotA 2, or, alternatively, Valve just trolling. Of course there's the possibility that they were using Ep3 resources to test DotA's performance or something but... why would they do that when they have better options?

Maybe it was just left in before cleanup? I doubt they're using an old version of source when they've had the episode 3 version in development. That stuff might of even accidentally been compiled into other releases even, source has been making a lot of changes. (Reminds me I need to play HL2 again. There's another game for the list ill never get to...)

IMHO no leak is truly by accident, they're a much, much better way of gaining publicity and letting people try the game than demo releases.

Episode 3 is sitting on Gabe's stomach.  He'll release it when he can grab it.  Every time you mention Episode 3 he eats an entire ham.

Everytime you make a fat joke, gabe delays ep3 by a few seconds, this time frame was picked because it's how long he can go without food before being hungry again.

Yeah, it seems popular now to "leak" everything, act upset about it, and rely on Streisand Effect for your marketing. That could be what is happening.

I'm many things but I'm not racist. I honestly hate the guy for leaking something like this, it's not even worth it and honestly all it does is hurt valve if anything.

Errr... How does the leak hurt Valve? If anything, they benefit. Free Publicity for HL Episode 3.

The last leak didn't delay Half Life 2, don't see why this would be any different
