Right, I have no clue where to go next. Besides the Brotherhood, of course, but I doubt that I could find anything useful there at such a low level (7). Any suggestions?

You could try the Brotherhood. You also could try talking to the cultists or the weapons/drug merchants. I honestly don't remember exactly, but one of them might point you towards another settlement.

There's another, more straightforward way to find other settlements, but that would involve a line of work that your character has no particular reason to take interest in.

If you haven't left Vault 13 again yet, maybe talk to the people there, see how it's going?

I've already done the turn, and will be typing it up tomorrow (hopefully. Really busy right now).

Are you talking about the caravans?

God I love Cabbot. No idea why. The things that he says have been copied faithfully, but some parts have been chopped off to improve the flow.

I've bought 10 Rad-Xs and 10 Rad-Away from Vince. That should be enough to tackle the Glow, right?

For the record, I've died three times this update. Once against the Deathclaw in the Hub, once to Decker, and another time to a holy clusterfuck of Raiders while returning from the Brotherhood. None of the deaths were satisfying enough to keep Rob dead.

Well, to be safe, take at least 20. That's what I do, I stand around a bit too much.

Yep. Well, maybe not Rad-X, but Rad-Away.

Two-Three Rad-X is more than enough. Rad-Away's : AFTER you get rads.

Or did they 'tick'? No matter, don't overdose!

Yeah, 10 of each seems like overkill to be honest! Just remember to space the rad-x out over the course of your trip, stacking them only as needed, and use the rad-away when you get out.

Also, did you not actually finish the boneyard "hand the dude the thing" quest or what?

No I did not. I feel that getting mauled by a Deathclaw wouldn't be a good use of my time.

Oh, gods, Deathclaws. First time I ran into those things I was a heavy weapons guy who had recently picked up a rocket launcher. I could paste ANYTHING I came across with one shot of that thing. So I'm wandering through the boneyard and I see this...thing come at me. I figure, eh, whatever, I've got a rocket launcher. So I do an aimed shot to the head and fire away. Direct hit! It goes flying! It finally skids to a stop.

And then it got. back. up.

All I could do is sit and stare. The thing took a rocket to the face and it got back up?? What the hell do you have to do to kill these things??

Turns out multiple rockets and a dose of a machine gun worked to get me through that area. But that was one of the more memorable enemies in all my days of playing games. Nasty, nasty things in the original fallout.

Even worse in Fallout 3 and NV. They're silent, they sneak up on you, and they turn up at places you don't expect them to.

They were scary at first, but being at level 23-24, an they nearly regularly make an appearance, they're now annoying.

Spoiler: Then again... (click to show/hide)

Oh yeah, in FO3, I tend to go full-solo (sorry, no dogmeat either, though that thing would be a god amongst pups by now by level association).

Stop right there. They are child's play in NV, and only turn up EXACTLY where you expect them to be.

In NV? Not as random as FO3, but during my 10 or so playthroughs, 3 had them spawn in the weirdest fucking places. The other playthroughs, the only place i really saw them was the mines where the nest is. Besides that, piece of cake.
