Excellent.

Sadly, it appears that hostage negotiations are not Rob's specialty. Oh well. At least we now have combat armour.

Nice job!

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Nice job!

I hope you aren't talking about the hostage situation.

The raider was all "Bleh, blood begets blood on the wastes. I'm a big mean raider blah blah blah." Then Rob was like "U mad, bro?" Which only served to annoy the raider, who replied "Grr. You are a lair and a cheat. I won't be taking any smack talk from you." Rob was all like "Come at me, bro!" and then shot the raider in the face. Twice. After that the hostage said "Ew! You are icky and mean and have no respect for human life and are Ev4l!!!!!!111!1" despite Rob totally saving her life and all.

...

Did I just write that?

Back to Work

Spoiler: Vault of my Life (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: A Pysker Did It (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: A Delicate Situation (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: The Grand Old Hub (click to show/hide)

Question: Geiger Counter, how do I use it? Trying to use it from my inventory does nothing, and I don't see any other menus that could activate it.

Also hopefully I can resume my schedule of regular updates tomorrow. We'll see.

Any comments/advice/criticism is welcome as always. Right now I think I'll explore the rest of the Hub, maybe visit that Maltese Falcon that everyone seems to talk about.

EDIT: The Hub must be bad luck or something. I died, again.

EDIT2: What would constitute legitimate reasons to savescum? no, wait, yeah, savescum. Having a character die after two updates seems kinda lame...

You can always pretend that you did not die, until you get to areas later in the game.

You're not doing an Ironman anyway, so.. it's not like viewers care that much if you die or not.

I'm ok with you just reloading and 'ignoring' deaths.

Bad dream?

Geiger counters emit a ticking noise, I think. Or areas you think are radiated, just use it in inventory (or equip it like a weapon) and use it, and it'll update in the message screen (equipped as a weapon for more frequent use, good for tracking the rate of rad-growth). There are a few places where it would be useful. It really helps if you have plenty of Rad-X and Anti-Rad on hand for a particular location.

Fallout is pretty brutal, and going through the game "hardcore" style is very difficult, especially if you haven't done it before. It's just too random. Some mutant gets a crit or the wrong guy with a minigun sees you and suddenly you're chorizo.

I propose you go through the game, and in the updates, maybe write little side notes about where and how you died.

Right, that seems like a good idea.

Update will be out... Sometime in the future. Honestly, I haven't played enough for an update. The whole dying thing slowed me down a bit.

EDIT: Being a robot would probably help explain any save-scumming. (Reference to the next update)

Damn it! Definitely lost my CDs. Just bought Fallout Classic (trilogy) on gamestop website for 20 bucks, thanfully downloadable. Time to start from the beginning. :P Sadly, I never played FO1 or 2, I jumped straight to tactics hehe, then FO3, then vegas.

Huzzah!

Spoiler: Transmissions (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: The Necropolis (click to show/hide)

Combat armour is freaking awesome. The ghouls couldn't hurt me through the damn thing unless they get a critical.

Sometimes not even then. If I wanted to I could have just melee'd them to death, but it would have taken several hours and would have been incredibly boring.

Also: Completely ignore the fact that we reached Necropolis before Devlin did.

Right, I have no clue where to go next. Besides the Brotherhood, of course, but I doubt that I could find anything useful there at such a low level (7). Any suggestions?

Meh. I've started with FO3, but I've never played New Vegas. From what I've heard, it's closer to the original games than FO3.
