Campaign I: Saduk - Tenth TurnAshley Malkus and Konstanz ScriptorReport what happened
Ah, well. Mission accomplished, Malkus is out of there, no need to stay behind.
If the Eldar is within reach, blast at him again, but do not pursue him if he isn't. Then get back to the others and my body and report to the commander.
While Ashley Malkus reports their encounter with the Eldar, Konstanz Scriptor stays behind for one last strike at the nearest Warlock.
[Focus:1+1=2][Control:6+1=6][Power:5-1=4] Seeing the vast mental fire of the Eldar Farseer approaching fast, Konstanz takes a shortcut through his preparations. Before he can react, the powers he's summoned slip out of his command and turn against him. [Dodge:4] He uses all his mental strenght to block it away, leaving him fully open for the Eldar spearhead. The nearest Eldar begins, attempting to lay a trap around the Imperial psyker.
[Focus:3+1=4][Control:2+1=3][Power:3] Invisible ropes spring up around his form, [2+1=3] but not too strongly. While he's trying to get rid of them, the Farseer's attack arrives.
[Focus:2+3=5][Control:2+2=4][Power:1+3=4] The storm reaches him just as he's freed himself, [Dodge:2-1=1] leaving him no chance to escape. The forces of the Warp pick Scriptor's form up and threaten to rip apart his very being. [Damage:72+24=96] His barriers hold for now, but he flees as quickly as he can regardless, leaving the Eldar behind. Thankfully, they don't seem to wish to pursue him.
Konstanz opens his eyes, back on the roof, finding himself being carried inside a Valkyrie by a reluctant crewman. Coazan and Malkus are already there, and the aircraft is preparing for take-off.

Sergeant Grygur Urugur and Sergeant Micelus Abbar
Just watch the hedge, and tell the chimera to go on and slay the reaper, then retreat. Re-position the men into the best defensive position for all possible attacks. Get chimera to stay in defensive position, protecting guardsmen behind it. Half of squad on overwatch, other half (including melta-gun and chimera) ready to engage in suppressing fire on the next enemy to come out.
Hellhound to return quicksharp on the right hand side, rest of squad to overwatch to front, back and right, if possible.
[5] The Talons' Chimera advances, [Dodge:6-1-1=4] spraying the vegetation with a Multilaser volley. The Dark Reaper keeps his head down, [4][Dodge:2-1-1=1] but there's no cover to protect him. The Heavy Bolter proves much more accurate. [Damage:69+42=11] A spinning, fist-sized rocket-propelled high-explosive shell finds its mark in the forehead of the Eldar. The wraithbone in his helm shatters instantly, and the bolt digs deeper, detonating inside the Eldar's fragile skull and turning his brain into an unrecognizable mess. Its contents are scattered all over the forest, a part raining down on the Chimera itself. The gunner doesn't stop there, unloading his entire volley into the Eldar's ruined body.
Down in the farmstead, the sergeants begin re-positioning their troops in case the missing Guardians attack from behind. [Tactics:Overwatch][Leaderships:3/1] It's beginning to look like either no-one can understand Sergeant Abbar's or his squad are mutinous - regardless, they fail yet again to do anything useful.
[4] Trooper 'Three-Cogs' Masiq soon spots movement in the back. He and his partner, Dusinin, prepare to fire. They don't have to wait long. [5] Five of the Guardians surge in from the forest floor, raising their Shuriken Catapults for firing. The Guardsmen are faster. [CRs:5+1-1=5/4+1-1=4] They unleash their volleys in unison [Dodges:2-1=1/1-1=1] and score perfect hits, las-fire impacting on the Guardians' chest and helms. [Damages:18+6=24/19+6=25] The two hit xenos collapse, but the rest rush on, firing their weapons on the move.
[Eldar CRs: Three Failed, Three Passed] Their Shuriken Catapults whine to life, [Dodges:5+1+1=6/4+1+1=6/3+1+1=5] but the thick walls of the farmstead protect the Guardsmen from the wild fire of the Eldar. The running four head for the back-side door, continuing their Shuriken barrages. [Eldar CRs: Three Failed, Three Passed][Dodges:4+1+1=6/3+1+1=5/3+1+1=5] Firing while on the move and against protected opponents proves unsurprisingly ineffective, and gives the men inside a reason to return fire.
[CRs:6+1=6/2+1=3] Unfortunately, the same movement grants the Eldar the speed to evade any Imperial fire as well. [Dodges:6+1=6/3+1=4] The Eldar move unnaturally fast, heading for the back-side door. [5] The leading one crashes through the door with no trouble, appearing in the midst of the Guardsmen with his friends in tow.
[Urugur CR:2+1=3] A shocked silence descends upon the farmstead for a moment, but it's quickly broken by Sergeant Urugur's warcry as the man leaps across the room at the first Eldar, repeatedly thumbing the activator of his chainsword. The mechanized weapon roars into life, [Dodge:4] descending upon the Guardian in a wild slash. The nimble Eldar jumps back at the last moment. He narrowly avoiding the weapon's hungry teeth. [Eldar CR:6+1=6] Urugur's blade passes to the side, and the Eldar moves, whipping out a slender blade and stabbing at the sergeant in one, graceful act. [Dodge:5] Urugur is no stranger to melee combat either, and has no trouble deflecting the alien's strike.
[Abbar CR:6+1=6] A few steps away, the other sergeant joins the fray, [Dodge:4] but his las-volley goes wide and draws a jagged scar against the far wall. [Eldar CR:3+1=4] The Guardian is quick to react, [Dodge:4] but its shots go wide as well, ricocheting off the floor around Abbar's feet.
[4] As if the situation wasn't bad enough already, Trooper Kavvis on the left side reports more movement in his zone. He's cut short, [CR:1+1=2] and he shouts in alarm, seeing four graceful female forms appear from the forest with shimmering power blades. They rush towards the side of the farmstead, though there's no clear entrance on the left side. Unfortunately, with those weapons, they won't be much slowed down by that fact.
[5] Naturally, this is the time the Chimera and Hellhound decide to return. They spin around the corner in unison, [CRs:3/5/1/3] weapons blazing. The Banshees are caught right in the middle without any cover, though their speed should grant them some advantage. [Inferno Cannon Dodges:4+1=5/2+1=3/3+1=4/3+1=4] They move too fast for the Inferno Cannon blast, and only one of them is caught in the gushing flames. [Damage:72-36=36] The unlucky xenos collapses, her body quickly devoured by the flames.
[Other Dodges:5+1=6/5+1=6] The Heavy Bolter fire is too slow, gouging deep holes in the soft ground.
The Eldar reach the farmstead wall, and [3] begin hacking at it with their power swords. With each strike, the energy field surrounding their arcane weapons rips chunks out of the wall. The walls are too sturdy to fall apart immediately, though, which probably wasn't in their plan.

Laric and Markon Joanos"Finish off that tank, then get forward to follow that bastard!" ordered Markon with vigor.
Fire bolters on the last Fire Prism and reload the main cannon.
Theres no need to chase that bastard anymore, just let him go and get back to the others
Steering away from the dying Wraithlord, Markon's tank prepares to finish off the helpless, lone Fire Prism. [CRs:6/4/4] The Bolters fire, [Damage:96+42/98+42/45+42] and the xenos grav-tank goes up in a satisfying ball of flames.
Laric's tank finally gives up, letting the Wave Serpent rampage however it wants behind the Imperial lines. [4] Both tanks join the clean-up operation, following their comrades in destroying the last of the immobilized xenos. Soon there's nothing on the battlefield expect the mighty tanks of the Imperium, and the smoking wrecks of their enemies.
Captain Stalos isn't done yet, though, rushing towards the direction the Eldar came from despite orders to stay put for now. The two tank commanders wonder if they should follow him and drive back the few survivors of this battle, or return to base to mend their wounds.

Oh... oh god. Micelus yet again fails leadership. I think you might want to forget about the Ruinous Powers for now. I've heard good things about Gork and Mork.
Once you two have dealt with this, though, you'll be at the end of your little skirmish. I'm gonna spoil a bit and reveal the climax of the battle would've originally been a Wraithlord, but I decided that even I'm not that cruel. The reason the rest of the Guardsmen didn't fire on the Eldar barging inside is because they were Overwatching other directions, which requires total concentration to the task in hand. Hah hah hah.
I only now realized I haven't been updating the ammo for Markon's main gun. Removed spent shells, though I'm pretty sure he fired many more times than that. Oh well. Also, cool, he managed to spend an entire clip on one of those Heavy Bolters. I should probably cut down on the clip size on those things, 8 is a bit too much.
