Turrets- Makes one of your squads inactive for a turn but allows you to deploy a multi-laser turret; There can be 4 on the battle because of their relative ineffectiveness and lack of suppression.

EDIT: I put "one of your squads" because some people will get a promotion and get another squad it seems.

Ehh, I could add that as equipment, I guess, but deployable Turrets are something more fit for elite stormtroopers. Or Marines.

Though I will add an Ogryn Squad and maybe a Stormtrooper Specialist (one guy, I guess, they'd be overpowered otherwise). I already have stats for Ripper Guns and Hellguns anyhow. Marines make no sense though, though they might fight alongside you in future campaigns (hint hint, just as brief cameos most likely, though).

You'll be fighting alongside AI allies most of the time in future Battles and the other Campaigns, and they'll reinforce you if the plot wills it. A perk that allows you to call in a support Valkyrie or Vulture might be good, though.

Campaign I: Saduk - Ninth Turn

Ashley Malkus and Konstanz Scriptor
Ashley attempts to make the eldar witch see things that are not there
"..Aye, commander. Right away."

Leave the physical form behind, then go back to the place I saw them earlier. Attempt to mask my presence when I arrive so I do not alert any possible enemies of me being there, and if needed, blast our enemies there with psychic fire from "behind".

[Focus:1+1=2][Control:4+1=5][Power:1+1=2] Ashley strikes at the Eldar's mind, attempting to confuse his mind with phantom enemies. Something seems to go wrong, but it matters little. The effect of the psychic power is so tiny the half-visible daemon-images dancing at the edges of Ashley's vision go unnoticed.

[Focus:5+1=6][Control:2+1=3][Power:5+1+2=6] The Eldar retaliates, drawing deep from vast reserves of energy. The mental lance that follows [Damage:593] devours Ashley's being in an instant, [5] and he jolts awake in his body, back in the physical world.

[Focus:3+1=4][Control:6+1=6][Power:6-1=5] Right then, Konstanz appears to avenge his friend's banishment, [Psi-attack:5+1=6/5+1=6/3+2-1=4] and sends a barrage of warp-fire screaming towards the Eldar's form. Stunned from his own attack, he fails to dodge and [Damage:45+24=69] is thrown across the fields beneath them.

[1] He can't do anything else. The Warlocks are returning, appearing from all across the battlefield. Behind them comes a much more powerful presence, like the rising sun, sending ripples across both the real world and the currents of the Warp with sheer power. It might be a good idea to flee.

Enemies
1 Eldar Warlock at 53/122 HP, psychic form circling Ashley. Eldar Psyker

Spoiler: scriver (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: wolfchild (click to show/hide)

Sergeant Grygur Urugur and Sergeant Micelus Abbar
Order Vas to keep up his sniper fire. Hellhound to continue trying to advance, firing all weapons in range at the Reapers to suppress, the rest of the squad overwatches to watch out for that right hand hidden squad.

Request for Abbar to keep Chimera attacking Reapers and for his squad to concentrate fire on either the reapers or overwatching on the guardians. Oh and someone kill that lone Eldar in front of us :)

Get the chimera to continue it's attack on the reapers. Squad will use overwatch for guardians.

Trooper Vas acknowledges the Sergeant's order and [CR:4+1=5] opens fire before the Reapers can get up. He takes careful aim at the same one as last time and pulls the trigger. [Dodge:2-1=1] Bullseye - the las-shot penetrates through the already-damaged helmet [Damage:12+6=18] but it's not enough to kill the Eldar, who seems to be treating the hits more as an annoyance than anything. The sniper shares his feelings on the lack of a kill over the comm in colourful detail, breaking out of his usually reserved attitude. [4+1=5] With a lull in the suppressing Heavy Bolter fire, the Eldar takes the chance to return fire with his similarily long-range weapon.

[Dodge:2+1=3] The Reaper's missile weapon awakens, spitting out the propelled explosive with a resounding thud. It veers gracefully across the distance, approaching Trooper Vas' position. The marksman cannot stop staring even as the missile grows nearer and nearer. At the last possible moment he hits the floor, [Damage:125-48=77] but to no avail. The missile slams into the side of the top building and detonates, taking most of the wall with it. Shards of wood and stone are thrown into every possible direction, and smashing Vas' face in. His faceless body slides down the lenght of the upper floor and crashes against the back wall with an audible noise. [1] While the directed explosive doesn't harm the trooper below Vas, the wall comes down there as well, ridding him of his cover. [4] He immediately heads down the house and begins to push up a heavy table to block the hole.

[4] The Hellhound finally breaks away from the brush and begins rolling into the forest. [1] The Bolter gunner can't get a clear angle in the uneven terrain, [3] but the Inferno Cannon is ready. Time for pay-back. A scorching stream of white-hot flames descends upon the Dark Reapers, [Dodges:5-1=4/6-1=5/2-1=1/3-1=2/3-1=2] though two have already spotted the danger and are running away. The three remaining Eldar are too slow to react, burdened by their heavy armor, [Damages:69+36=105/93/38] and they're enveloped by the wall of fire. All three die instantly, much to the delight of the Imperials. [CRs:1+1=2/1+1=2] The two survivors keep on running, not even sparing a single glance back.

[3] The Chimera follows its brother, multi-laser spinning into action. [Dodge:4-1=3] The rapid fire scythes through the vegetation at the targeted Eldar's feet, scoring a single hit on the back of his knee. [Damage:178-60=118] Naturally, this causes his knee to simply disappear in a flash of energy, leaving behind only a smell of burning and a jet of high-pressure blood that throws the Dark Reaper off his feet and kills him in an eyeblink. [4] The Bolter gunner follows up with a volley that [Dodge:4-1=3][Damage:83-42=41] tears apart the last survivor's feet. He goes down, but continues crawling towards safety, [3] though there's no good cover in his vicinity. [CRs:1+1=2] He's too preoccupied with survival to even consider returning fire.

Back at the farmstead, [Tactics:Overwatch][Leaderships:3/1] Grygur gives orders for his squad to keep an eye on the right side hedge for the Guardians. [CRs:3+1-1=3] They keep looking at it, but it's impossible to tell if the Guardians are behind the hedge. No-one tries to come through it, perhaps guessing the squad's intentions. [5] The last surviving Guardian from the beginning ambush is too slow to get out of the defenders' view, and two soldiers from Grygur's squad take shots at him. [Dodges:2/5] The first one scores a hit, [Damage:19] bringing the Eldar down at last.

[6] No enemy reinforcements appear on the horizon, atleast not just yet. Sergeant Urugur's vox hisses and Captain Gasoon comes online. He sounds obviously frustrated.

'This is Company Command to Deathspear Squad. What's the situation, Urugur? Are you still holding your position?'

Enemies
6 Eldar Guardians with Shuriken Catapults and Combat Blades, somewhere to the right, Unknown Range. Disciplined
1 Eldar Dark Reaper at 9/50 HP with Reaper Launcher [3/3], crawling to the right in the forest, Close Range to the vehicles, Unknown Range to infantry. Disciplined, Heavy Infantry, Suppressed

Spoiler: lawastooshort (click to show/hide)
Deathspear Squad
1 Guardsman with Lasgun [6/6] and Combat Knife, watching the left side. Disciplined
1 Guardsman with Lasgun [5/6] and Combat Knife pushing a table to the broken wall. Disciplined

2 Guardsmen with Lasguns [3/6] and Combat Knives, in the lower part of the farmhouse, In Cover. Disciplined
1 Hellhound at HP 550/650 with Inferno Cannon [2/3] and Heavy Bolter [5/8], in the forest, approaching the last Dark Reaper.

Spoiler: micelus (click to show/hide)
Talons of Bryndis Squad
3 Guardsmen with Lasguns [5/6] and Combat Knives, in the lower part of the farmhouse, In Cover. Disciplined
3 Guardsmen with Lasguns and Combat Knives, in the lower part of the farmhouse, In Cover. Disciplined
1 Guardsman with Melta Gun and Combat Knife, in the lower part of the farmhouse, In Cover. Disciplined
1 Chimera at 397/500 with Multi-laser [4/6] and Heavy Bolter [8/8], in the forest approaching the last Dark Reaper.

Laric and Markon Joanos
"Finally our reinforcements are here! Finish off that Fire Prism and aim the main cannon at that Wraithlord and fire! Bring them down!"
Fire bolters at fire prism and battle cannon at Wraithlord
C'mon men, take out that bloody serpent ! [Focus fire] Shoot at the Wave Serpent

[CRs:5/4/6] The Heavy Bolters prepare for one final volley. It's a guaranteed kill, and they know it. The gunners take their time to open fire, exchanging jokes and smug comments. [Dodge:3-3=1] Then they fire, [Damages:46+42=88/63+42=105/125+42=168] and the Prism goes off in a blinding ball of fire.

The Main Cannon swivels around to face the Wraithlord, [CR:5][Dodge:5-1=4] but the shell detonates harmlessly in the distance. [CR:5-1=4] The hulking construct executes a surprisingly fast sprint towards the Destructum, [Dodge:3-1=2] and before they know it, it's right on top of them. Ilyas turns the tank left hard, but not before the Wraithlord has had a chance to slam both Power Fists down against the side of the Leman Russ. [Damage:54+127=181] Metal groans and bends under its mighty blows, shattering delicate equipment inside. The damage to the vehicle is not as bad as the damage sure to come to Markon's reputation - who fails to avoid a slow-moving walker like the Wraithlord? [5-1=4] The Wraithlord strikes again, [Dodge:5-1=4] but this time its target is long gone.

[6] There's a satisfying crack of wraithbone as an Imperial tank appears from the dust and crashes into the back of the Wraithlord, [CRs:3/2/3] unleashing a burst from its Heavy Flamer and a sponson Bolter. [Dodges:3-1=2/3-1=2][Damages:57/42=99] Both hit, flames crawling up the war-walker's smooth surface. [5-1-3=1/3-1-3=1] It can't do anything, with the fire interfering with its Wraithsight. The lumbering construct moves blindly, and is unlikely to live for long.

The new Leman Russ comes into better view, and Markon recognizes it as Stalos' vehicle. Great, now the news will definitely spread.

'Ooh, looks like you've taken quite a beating, friend. You sure you don't want to get to a safer distance, ehh?' he says over the vox, already speeding away.

Far behind them, Laric's tank continues hunting the Wave Serpent. [5] They're heading further and further away from the main battle. The Wave Serpent's crew most likely didn't expect him to hound them all this way.

[Tactic:Focus Fire][Leadership:2-1=1] Laric gives a series of confusing orders and comments, making the Plasma Gunners think he wants them to hold fire for now. By the time Laric realizes this, it's too late.

[Eldar CRs:5/5] The Shuriken weapons on the xenos transport whirr to life, [Dodge:6-1-1=4/2-1-1=1] though only the anti-infantry Catapult scores any hits on their pursuer. [Damage:23+12-16=19] The damage is superficial, but Laric's tank is damaged enough for it to count.

All over the battlefield, the remaining Eldar tanks are getting wiped out. It's looking like a clear victory, with only half a dozen crew casualties and one tank loss - the immobilized Old Hound.

Enemies (Markon Joanos)
1 Eldar Fire Prism at 31/600 HP with Prism Cannon [1/1], beside the Destructum, Close Range. Mobile Skimmer, Immobilized
1 Eldar Wraithlord at 10/500 HP, moving to the right, Close Range. Wraithsight, Heavy Structure, On Fire

Enemies (Laric)
1 Eldar Wave Serpent at 124/400 HP with 2 Shuriken Cannons [15/15] and Shuriken Catapult [4/6], heading towards the end of the fields, Close Range. Mobile Skimmer

Woah, that was one effective Hellhound-Chimera assault, squad leaders. Keep up the good work. And if that was unclear, you can't actually see through the hedge, not with that CR 3. They could be sneaking behind you right now all you knew. I like how Micelus' Leadership rolls always fail with a 1, by the way. Even a 2 would still allow the squad to fire on their own.

I hate how real life is pouring into my turns...1 leadership rolls!!?? Perhaps SlaaneshKhorne can aid me? Tzeentch always seemed like too much of a prick anyway...

Just watch the hedge, and tell the chimera to go on and slay the reaper, then retreat. Re-position the men into the best defensive position for all possible attacks. Get chimera to stay in defensive position, protecting guardsmen behind it. Half of squad on overwatch, other half (including melta-gun and chimera) ready to engage in suppressing fire on the next enemy to come out.

Ah, well. Mission accomplished, Malkus is out of there, no need to stay behind.

If the Eldar is within reach, blast at him again, but do not pursue him if he isn't. Then get back to the others and my body and report to the commander.

Also I'm fairly certain Ashley Malkus is a she :P

You wouldn't believe how many times I've written her down as a he. I should stop using her surname all the time. I don't usually have this problem. >_>

But come on, what kind of name is Ashley? This is 40k!
