Oh, that's what they meant by "dwarf porn double". I went in to that thinking it meant "a pair of dwarves Gordon Ramsey hired to perform pornographic acts" was found dead in a badger hole.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

Authorities are not ruling out suicide by badger consumption, wow.

The related topics are pretty dwarfy as well:

    * Court: Stars Wars dwarf exposed himself (he just needed to be assigned a uniform)
    * Tournament: Dwarfs push acceptance through sport (kitten toss? 100-urist dash away from safety?)
    * Dwarfs hold clues to cancer cure (magma obviously)
    * Stunted stunt stunted: Topless free booze dwarf sacked (I don't even)

i actually clicked on that last link, turns out a topless dwarf was "encouraging" people at the bar to drink... by pouring the alcohol straight from the bottle to their mouth.

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

Is using "dwarf" to describe short humans a British thing?  In America it's usually "little person", and if you don't care about being polite, "midget".  That is quite a WTF, though.  Damn badgers.

Dwarves and midgets are actually two seperate conditions.  From memory, I believe it depends on how limbs and body are in proportion to eachother.

It is the correct term for someone with dwarfism.

And no, 'midgets' and 'dwarves' aren't too separate conditions. It used to describe a subset of dwarves, but is considered offensive now.

which I really don't understand btw. Some people really hate Midget, some people really hate "little person", and some peopel really hate "dwarf". dwarves I can understand, since you know... dwarves are mythically a separate species. But then again plenty of people don't mind being called elves because of pointy ears. Midget seems proper to me, with "little person" seeming belitting.

I can't really empathize very well though, I'm tall.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

But everybody loves hobbits.  (Ok, except one particular individual, who hates nasty hobbitses, and I suspect there's someone else who bears them a grudge for something they did while his eye wasn't on them...)

(By the way, when I noticed the "it was reported by the Sunday Sport" bit, my credulity about the story was significantly reduced.  But right now I can't be bothered to look up any alternate sources, so I'll let it stand. :) )

Somehow I think that calling a "Dwarf" a Hobbit will head you a headbutt to the nuts.

Which, coincidentally, is why you never, never, never want to piss a short person off. EVER.

At least not unless you're practised at holding them at arm's length by placing your palm on the top of their head while they flail around in your direction in dramatic but ineffectual fashion...

(It probably would not be relevant to say that I'm not tall myself...)
