Turn 1:In which the GM contemplates how to name turns without spoiling things

Asarn sighed, he wanted to leave, but this day was probably not the right day so he sat down and ate his porridge before getting into the mines

(5)  The porridge actually seems pretty good today, and as you sit contemplating how food tastes good when you are starving half the time, (6, 6) Two of the new workers begin yelling at one another, you catch something about how one got a larger water ration then the other.  Within a few minutes the guards are attempting to hold them back from blows, when one of them yells 'Enough!' and the two guards holding his arms are thrown backwards by a shaft of light.  With a gester of his hand a third beam strikes the other miner, knocking him flying, the man misses the safety fence and falls screaming down the mine shaft.

Grab a few useless books and go to the restricted library. Find Ritualistic spell books and switch them out with the duds.

(2) You can only manage to find a couple of spare notepads laying around that wouldn't be missed.  Grabbing those you sprint to the restricted library (6) the door to it is locked, but when you test the strength of the chains holding it in they crumble and fall off. (5) You quickly slip inside and begin scanning for anything the might be a ritualistic tome, and spot a pedestal with a glass-case on it at the end of the first isle.  (5) You slip open the case, remove a book from a velvet bag inside and replace it with the notebooks.(5,4) The book appears to be a grimorie to be used in conjunction with another book, since all it contains is incantations and drawings but no reference as to what they do.  Flipping through it seems that there is at least 10 different rituals each with a detailed 5 page instruction set.  You pocket the dark black book and slip out of the library, however you can't seem to get the chains to go back together on the door, the guards will know someone was inside almost immediately when they arrive.

ok so good rolls, hehehe and fyi how many actions go through is dependent on how good the rolls are basically, unless of course you run into someone else.

Action: Desmond needs to obtain money, first and foremost...he bids Her goodbye for now-a stolen kiss, an impossible promise, no more, no less-and heads out.

He had an idea to hit a merchants shop tonight, but he'll need to be prepared. His first action is to visit the marketplace and scope out potential marks-unguarded, easy to enter shops, that are not likely to have owners sleeping in them-the quality of what he steals doesn't quite matter, but it has to be light enough to carry in a sack. Hell, even food can fetch a good price to the desperate.

He'll have to keep moving though, and not draw attention to himself-the guards are well paid to move along riffraff. Especially early in the morning, before the crowds form.

(1) In the bustle of early morning the guards seem angry and annoyed, every-time someone stops a guard starts towards them yelling to get them going. (4) You do however manage to get alongside the storefronts and get a good view of the market square (5=1,4,4,3,2) of the 5 major stores in the square that could have any amount of goods, only two look to be simply shops and not also the merchants house (2,4) as you slide along the walls towards the first shop you manage to get a good view of it before the crowd pushes you past.  It's the butchers shop, and the door appears to have little more then a single tumbler lock on it and is flimsy enough that a good kick could probably knock it in.  (5,4) The second is the jewlery store, which you remember was vandalized recently, so the door to it is little more then a temporary sheet of boards with a simple padlock on it.  The recent damage doesn't seem to have deterred business at all and you can see a half dozen nobles browsing the glass cases of gems and gold trinkets inside, (1,5)the ceiling however has a number of marks upon it which could be the nightwatchmen's alarm signals, you figure if anyone entered the store the guards would be there in less then a few minutes.

I go to work. At least its simpler than dealing with the spirits and their necessity for perfect circles.

(5) Stifling a yawn you make your way down to the work yard (6), the foreman hands you a pre-heated bucket of tar and a trowel.  You set to work taring the cracks between the flagstones (5,4) and before you can even begin to feel tired the entire section has been tared in.  You glance down and notice that there is still a half-bucket of warm tar and contemplate whether or not it could make good circle material. (5) No one is around at the moment, having all moved off to other construction jobs, you doubt they will be back for an hour or so.

(2,3) You look about the mail-lobby and can't manage to find anyone who isn't already talking to a courier, (4) then you notice someone just coming in the door with a list, running over you introduce yourself and offer to take his job. (4) Glancing about the man sighs and mutters something about how couriers get smaller every year, and then hands you the list.

you nearly drop dead when you read the pay, that could feed you for a year.  When you look up to tell the man you'll accept, he's gone, and instead there is the items on the list sitting in a sack in front of you.

Why yes I did use a d6 the entire time, an actual die too... kinda why I messed up so badly.  Ok so NOW I'll be using d10.

half copper is the lowest, then copper, 100 copper=1 silver, 100 silver=1 gold, so 2 gold is basically a kings fortune for anyone who is not a noble.  Also there is an abnormally large number of nobles but you'll find out why that is eventually.

Deliver the packages then go to the mansion, also pick a newspaper on the way.

(10) You make amazing time, and even manage to snag a newspaper from someone's pocket on the way.  You arrive at the mansion after having uneventfully delivered the other packages, when you knock on the door a very old women with long white hair and a cane made of cut glass answers the door.(9) not wanting to lose the money, when she invites you in, you follow her inside.  She tells you to wait at the door while she goes to get her father.

(9)You start criticizing the man for his actions and he just shrugs and says that a man from the kingdom of Xake doesn't put up with someone attacking him.  You stop for a second and ask what he means Kingdom of Xake, he tells you  "5 years ago this kingdoms wretched slavers killed my master and took me, luckily I happen to be able to regrow things, such as my voicebox."  He winks at you and shows a massive scar running down the center of his neck, "And for how i did that, well that's just my little surprise k?"  He turns and begins walking towards the mineshaft (9) you decide to follow, and get on the lift with him, you notice that everyone else is laying face-down in the dirt, but you see them begin to move as the lift drops into the mine.  "So my name's Oran, can I assume you want to get out of this dump of a city?"

Get rid of the broken chain, and scourge the entire nearby area for a new chain with lock to replace it.

If the only difference they spot is that their key doesn't work anymore, I'll get away with this for long enough. If not, I'll just have to improvise.

(6) You open a nearby window and toss out the broken chain, it lands in a pond and sinks quickly from sight. (10) You look and actually manage to find another chain and lock in a nearby room, returning quickly you lock them together on the door, only then noticing that the chain is made of an entirely different metal.  You hurry back to your classroom, hoping the guards won't notice the chain is a different color, just as the school bells ring and you hear the main doors open.  Seconds later Teachers begin walking past your room, all with faces of utter sadness, the noble brats were always a horrible lot and did everything they could to make a teachers life terrible.

This is gonna go oh so very wrong isnt it?

(9) You head quickly off to an old side street and move a large sheet of half rotting wood to the side to expose the flat stone side of the building (9) Working off of pure imagination you cover the wall with intricate swirls, runes and daemonic pictures  (1)  you put the finishing touches on it and activate the circle.  Placing your hands to the wall causes them to stick fast to the wall, as the tar begins to bubble and spin around the wall centered on your hands. (2) small arms formed of tar reaches out and grabs you by the shoulders as you try and struggle free  (?) it drips down farther over your arms and begins drawing runes upon your skin, ripping the skin as blood mixes with tar(?) your vision begins to change, as darkness moves from the edges to the center, but at the same time another sight begins to grow from what feels like your forehead.(?)  With a clamp of thunder the tar completely dissapears, and you are thrown backwards.  Crawling you drag yourself to a puddle and look in,(?) your eyes are swirling balls of black tar with strands of blood making circles and runes swimming across them.  You look at your arms and they too are covered with white scars making intricate designs and patterns across your skin.  You notice a message written in blood on the far wall, it reads "Don't use the remains of long dead daemons without knowing what you are doing young necromancer"  as you finish reading the blood turns to dust and blows away.  You can't help but wonder where they mined the tar.

Desmond knows the butcher is the best bet tonight...especially if the constables are concentrating on the nearby jewelry shop instead...

He'll need some things. First, a pair of shabby clothes-and a form concealing cloak. He might be able to con one off of someone, or find something in a trashbin. Of course, he'll need a sack as well. That couldn't be very difficult at all!

Then, dark paint...that would be as hard as finding a working construction sight, or an unfinished house, walking in and taking what he wants. If anyone asks, he can lie his way out. He always has.

(9) After a bit of looking about you find an unconscious man outside the back of a bar near the market square.  You strip him of his cloths and long cloak, ( and even find a few silver tied to his belt.  (10)  As you turn around to leave you notice an old potato sack, stuffing the clothes inside you walk away quickly.  (1)  Someone sees you leaving and yells, (5) they throw a rock at you (6) but it barely misses, you bolt (2,8) and they quickly lose sight of you.  Not wanting to risk drawing further attention you simply head back to the market and buy a large can of dark paint with a bit of the stolen silver.

I twas at university, and am now writing my physics start-of-the-year-to-immediately-fuck-you-up 2000 word paper.  Which involves severily less rolling and a hell of a lot more nuclear physics.  I'll be more then happy to have the next turn done in at most 4 hours.

You have an odd sense of time. A couple of minutes is an hour and 14 minutes, and 4 hours is actually a day and 6 hours and counting.

Are you in any way affiliated with Valve by any chance?
