Civilization: Creating History
« on: September 17, 2011, 09:44:39 am »

The year is 2015. The economy has gotten so bad it has literally thrown nations into another World War for resources. For many people, they don't feel that a World War will help any, and try to stray away from it as much as possible. But it will not be enough. You and some of your neighbors have come together and made the decison to declare themselves no longer citizens of their country, and to create their own.

After a few days of walking through the countryside, your people have finally found a good area to settle, on a large flat plains. The soil is good for farming, and you have enough to supplies to build houses.
--------------------------------------------

Ok, I was bored and I want to create something that I haven't seen before on the B12 forums. Hopefully this game will be a success and not a major screwup. I do also realize that the background story is really short, but I didn't want to create a game where it's a post-apocolypse world.

MECHANICS OF THE GAME(Subject to change):

Morale: how happy your people are. A high industry morale will ensure your people are more productive, your military will fight more effectively, and your watchmen with be able to police and detect with much more effciency. A larger population has a greater chance of swaying your morale levels around.

Watchmen: the Watchmen are your police force and scouts. They can stop anyone attempting to commit crimes(based on your government type) and can watch to see if anything comes near your cities.

Foreign Advisor: Your Foreign Advisor keeps track of what goes on around the world. Whether it'd be wars, terrorism, or anything else, your Foreign Advisor will be there to tell you important events. They will also tell you if anything new comes up near your country reported by your Watchmen.

Miltary Advisor: Your Military Advisor is there for your army. Any troops who are grouped up with your Military Advisor will always recieve a very high morale level.

Industrial Advisor: Your Industrial Advisor is the national foreman. They make sure all your industries are working and producing goods. They also tell you if something went wrong in an industry, such as strikes, shortage of materials, etc.

Army: A.K.A your Military. People that are trained on how to use weaponry can enlist here, but not always!

Levels: Levels are used for your advisors, industries and military regiments. A higher level advisor will be more effective at what they do. A higher level industry will produce more and will be able to produce a wider selection of goods. A higher level Military regiment will fight more efficiently and casualties with reduce.

And now...
What is the name of your small nation?

What is the name of your capitol?

What type of government are you?

What is your leader's name?

What is your foreign advisor's name?

What is your military advisor's name?

What is your industrial advisor's name?

Why no communism? I wouldn't just lock out a whole government type because it's vulnerable to assholes taking charge.

Especially since we ARE those assholes.

It took weeks, but you and your people have managed to get homes and a town hall built. As you look around and smile what you accomplished, your Foreign Advisor walks up to you.

"Mr. Levant, this is great and all, but what type of government will we be?"

Oh hell, you think in the back of your mind. You wonder for a minute. You always enjoyed a Monarchy, just thinking of what it would be like when you were younger.

"We will be a Monarchy. An Absolute Monarchy with an elction," you reply.

I would suggest finding a map of the surrounding terrain and wondering what 8 people are doing. No, I don't care that they're probably children. Also, because of the tiny amount of people in our "country" if you could even call it that, I think that we should simply make the military into more of a militia that farms most of the time, and picks up arms only when necessary, which probably won't be any time soon as 20 people not making much of a fuss won't really attract much attention. Unless we stop paying taxes.

Morale:Neutral(No bonus)

Inventory:
60 corn(+22/month)
40 wood(+0/month)

Industries:
Farming(lvl1):4 people producing 22 corn/month

Military:
Regiments: None

Foreign Affairs:
No countrys have noticed of our presence.
Third World War still going on.

Events for the month
Everyone celebrates the one month anniversary of their proud nation, increasing morale. (+5 to morale)

The harvest was fairly better than average this month, giving a bonus to corn stocks. (+30 corn this month)

"Sir, we have completed more houses this month, but we should find a source of wood before we build again. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anymore land to begin farming on, so until we expand, we may have to deal with what we have," Mrs. Shan reports.(+15 pop cap, -20 wood)

"Mr. Levant, I have a feeling someone may have found us," your Military Advisor reports.
"What? The Watchmen haven't reported anything strange," Mrs. Shan replies.

Ask our industrial advisor about what other industries our local region is best suited for.
"Well, there is a large forest to the south we can supply ourselves with wood, and there is also a small miltary base to the east, about 15 miles from Homus," he replies.

Notes from the Author
Well, writing this one was pretty interesting, as it was the first update. Looks like I'm gonna need to create a map of the local area, and if you haven't noticed, I didn't update this month's stats, like the +15 pop cap with the extra houses, that's because I kinda thought that since was an end month report and it would be the start of a new month, the stats would take affect. Only thing that really changed would be inventory.
