If he knew how Voice of Authority worked, he might understand you're the Crown Prince from that he was ordered to address the Crown Prince specifically with respect. What he doesn't (and wouldn't) know is that implicit in the command is his being compelled to treat you as the Crown Prince, whether he believes it or not.

He takes you to the Duke's palace and has the workers attend you. Your horse is taken to the stables, the looted blades are taken away, and the palace's servants bathe and outfit you. When you are properly attired in Royal Clothing, you are brought before the Duke.
