You could also try professional poker or something, since reading minds would give you a massive advantage and some people would be prepared to put it down to skill at reading people.  They would probably kick you out pretty quickly though (maybe citing "card counting" or something as the reason).

Then be good, but not too good. All you have to do is be better at it than other people!

So essentially, you'd use your super natural powers to emulate completely natural luck?

No, I'd use it to make luck unnecessary!

You see, the thing about luck is that you can't actually count on it. You could make the same response to someone wanting to use fortune-telling powers to win the lottery. Hitting the jackpot in the lottery and winning several million dollars is also "emulating completely natural luck". Except for that bit where luck is defined by the fact that it's random.

And who says it's the only thing I'd do with it?

If you're gonna play the game, boy, you've gotta learn to play it right.
Well, if you can't stop yourself from winning everything or showboating... at least learn when ya need to run.

Honestly, I have the skill to hack into my family members and friend's accounts and learn everything about them, their visited sites, their secret blogs, their webcam stuff.

But it's rude. And I don't even want to know sometimes. So I don't do it. Plus I'm too lazy. I've had a housemate with the same hacking skills too, he didn't abuse it even though he very well could.

So, if I could read minds, I probably wouldn't either. I also enjoy the challenge of reading people's thoughts without the supernatural skill to do so, it'd be like a spoiler :P

I'm also against using stuff like this (if I could see the future, if I could stop time, etc) to make money from gambling. Gambling's a horrible way to make money, you contribute literally nothing to the economy, and it's an abuse of the monetary system. It's cheating and practically theft. So, yeah, an immoral way to use it.. and if I could read minds, there are better jobs, like in PR or politics or customer service or law enforcement where you can actually use it to make tons of money.

Unless your name is Matrim Cauthon.

I would use it for monetary gain/to help capture criminals guilty of serious offenses.

On the note of using it to cheat at poker: professional would still be much better than in a casino, as you'd have a lot more than being kicked out if you were accused of cheating at a hi-stakes table...

Using psychic powers for PR is probably more immoral than using them for gambling, unless you're doing PR for a charity (AND said charity is run competantly enough that donations aren't mostly consumed by administrative expenses).
