Time flows differently depending on the direction of your cowlick.

Glyph is obviously a time traveller, and I am a being from beyond time.

No, I mean... looking at the person, or AS the person?

I've never seen a girl with a cowlick.  I wanna see one now.

I've been assuming all this time that it's "from above", but I cannot be sure.

I've never seen a girl with a cowlick.  I wanna see one now.

Also this, and it never occurred to me before reading this post that it was the case. Hrm. Probably there's a statistical bias due to hairstyles, but even so.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well, I do know that I personally seem to have bangs that go straight up whenever left to their own devices, but that's probably thanks to my horribly frizzy, curly, explosion-hair.

It's looking at it 'from above', I'm pretty sure, from skimming through the entire text of the study. It even has pictures! :)
