Make multiple danger rooms, put elves in one, gobbos in another, and modded intelligent honey badgers in the third, and your own dorfs in the last one.  Absolutely NO ONE must have weapons or armor, not even your dorfs, make an arena, let them all loose, see who wins.  This shall prove once and for all which race is superior.

Someone should capture gobbos, danger room some and not others, then release them at the edge of the map and get them to flee. Then set the fort up to be sustainable and let it run for as long as you can. Do a few more forts like that. Then track down the names of the gobbos you set up in legends mode and see if the danger roomed ones did more notable stuff than the others.
That won't work in the current version. There is a bug that makes historical figures stop existing when they go off the map edge.

Damn... do they still exist if you abandon? You could train them, abandon, and then make a second sustainable fort to pass the time.

1. Capture an entire goblin siege in a big danger room
2. Survivors become legendary. Add new goblins as they arrive.
3. Route something crazy like a candy fb with fire breath into the room.

1. Lock up some invading elves/goblins in the danger room.
2. Train them up for a year or two.
3. Abandon the fortress.
4. Send in an adventurer!!
5. Die very quickly?

Wouldn't know which ones I'm actually laughing at.

The other issue with it is that nobody does anything anywhere in the world after world-gen, with the exception of your own fortresses and adventures. It quite literally comes to a halt that year, and everyone stands in one spot until they die of old age. This is being worked on, but it's not in yet, and it won't really be in for a long, long time.

IDEA!

Make all life as we know it cease to exist with your fortress, then adventure the remaining immortals to death.

Twas a counter-reference to the same comic.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
But I don't think it is... maybe for pathetically small breasts on adults...

I'm fairly sure it was Flapjack, although it should have been Adventure Time because, well, Adventure Time rocks.

Also, is it bad that I want to set up a delayed water repeater and specific spike setup to danger room train kobolds?

There is some good down home dwarven ingenuity going on in this thread.  I like it.

However.

I am shocked and appalled that noone has incorporated a mud-applying mechanism to ensure that the incoming elves are indeed suitably filthy before their adventures in the danger rooms.

I find that rather redundant myself, because elves.
