Midriff Explosion are many things: The dehydrated version of awesomesauce, the funkiest bears, communists, these guys or a crack team of Norwegian merpeople hand-picked by ancient Vikings to infiltrate Valhalla and steal coolness from the gods. The most mundane explanation of Midriff Explosion is that we are a band.

We're on Facebook here, and we're entered in a competition here. We've got very little actual music recorded as yet, but that will be rectified in the next few weeks. We're also playing a local Battle of the Bands tomorrow night.

I'm not sure why I'm making this thread: I suppose I just want to share how cool we are, really.

I assume you assume I'm a spambot? The name was an injoke based on our music teacher's arrangement of INXS' New Sensation. I played DF for most of the 40d era, then couldn't get my head around 0.31.01 and later. I have donated, though not much. The other band members I did not list because I'm not sure if they're okay with my posting their names online, although it's fairly easy to infer who we are from our facebook page, which is linked. I will not give you any hats.

Now that that's over with, Good news, everyone! We've won the People's Choice award at a battle of the bands. It was a great night, and the folks who got the judges' awards certainly deserved them, and there was a great standard of performance from all involved. Video of our set will likely be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.

If y'all check our My School Act page, there's some video up of us at the Battle of the Bands. It's a select portion, as it was far too loud for most of the audio to come through well. I am, of course, the man in the leather trenchcoat.
