Well, she is a bit of a brute, and the one doing the least work usually looks like the boss...

A reasonable misunderstanding, for sure.

I had the exact opposite problem with one of my games during a bank robbery scene. Three characters, only one of which had a gun, managed to take out four or five military grade bank robbers through the use of gravitational anomalies and stealing the downed baddies guns. The two named baddies managed to make it out before they could get curb stomped, too, but in the end of four short rounds of fighting they had three critical rolls and the baddies had two critical failures. It was rather astonishing.

definitely watching this one.

I'm not sure how Quiddich will work, but it was a major part of the movies/books so it can't be done away with, so even the mildly funny Mage Basketball is good.

That's one thing that's always bugged me about folks who play mages... They focus too much on DPS rather than manipulating the environment.

Of course, D&D kind of prevents spur of the moment thinking as far as spells go, because once you remember a spell that would do something cool you remember that you didn't prepare that one. Perhaps one of the only reasons I hate playing casters in D&D.

Yeah, I always used custom rules for spells to get around that. The whole prepared spells thing always bugged me too much, and really felt like it crippled a lot of fun aspects of being a mage.
