Is this project dead?

I'm going to Camelot, the world's most awesome gaming con/Christian youth camp. The comic will take a break for a week, and the next strip will be up on November 7th.
Only four more days. (You learn things like this by reading the text under the pictures.)

This comic is awesome, by the way. After viewing it, I was inspired to "read" through DM of the Rings, and am currently on Darths and Droids. Of equal quality, I say. Great job; I look forward to each one!

Ron's face in that last panel is priceless.

Ron's face in that last panel is priceless.

Often the quality of these kinds of comics isn't in just the words that they say. It is in the perfect captions they use.

It is what makes, for example, Twilight the Broodening videos funny. Inspite of the entirely altered tone the facial expressions are priceless.

Of the early strips in this... the one I like the most is one of Hermoine's first appearances.

You guys should go read "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality". Damn good fanfic.

Just started reading it and it's, so far, awesome!
Thank you for recommending it :).

Honestly I think the largest problem with "searching" in general is that DMs abuse it.

Searching (roll wise) should be for things that are actually hidden and cannot be seen by the naked eye.

The sheer number of times I heard that failed a search roll when the objects were out in the open or that could be found through mild searching is immense.

The last game I had out of ALL the search rolls only ONE I felt was justified.

Of course, you can always take 20 on a search check- if I don't have the time to take 20, I probably shouldn't be taking the time to loot in the first place.

We used to infuriate our DM by rolling Spot checks as soon as we entered a room, mid-description. And Listen checks. And "poke the ceiling with the 10' pole" checks.

Yeah but often the things are so casually out in the open that we should have spotted it entering the room or "casually looking"

If the DM wants you dead, you can never be too careful.

...Even though you'll probably die anyways.

Ah, but you've gotta make him work for it!
