Extra lulz when that d20 comes up over 15 on every stat and the DM thinks your cheating.

I seem to get a huge number of 1's and 20's whenever I roll. Usually, the 1's are for when I could do something useful, and the 20's are when I'm fighting zombies or something equally easy to kill. (We don't do undead = no crit rules.)

So, with that system, I'd probably come up with a couple of 20's and four 1's or something.

My fighter may have arms like wet ramen BUT HE'S SMARTER THAN STEPHEN HAWKING AND WALKS QUIETER THAN AN OWL FLIES.

Oh yeah well my Mage has Hulk Hogan muscles and enough endurance to lug around mount Fuji!

My rogue... Can't do any of that. He inherited a noble title though, so I had a couple thousand extra gold to spend.

Oh, cool, what'd you get?

Thirty-two hundred magic tree pellets. You throw them on the ground and *pop* a tree appears.

...Son I am disappoint.

Hey, those magic tree pellets are mad useful! Trees aren't that hard to climb, so they're useful as makeshift ladders. Instant cover is always nice, and if you get in with the leaves you can get some concealment too. Drop a few and you've got a nice little wall against really big monsters. And nothing screws up a charge like a readied "create tree" action! Messes up rivers too, and their associated river monsters. And to top it off, it's a good conversation starter!

Can't you use them to bust down doors? Although that leaves a tree in the way trees don't usually take up the whole doorframe.

Also I'm imagining Hulk the Magus shoving a pellet down the gullet of a dragon and shouting the command word. Suddenly the dragon goes *pop*. Heheheh.

If DF decides to include magic (I'm half-hoping Toady decides not to, I like the feel of mudane people in a magic world) I ope there's a spell like that.

Stick the pellet in some orifice of the door, like a hinge or keyhole.

Take cover.

Command word.

Instant open door!

Step two: be eaten by dragon
Step three: have friend speak activation word
Step four: Problem, Dragon?
Step five: ???
Step six: Profit!

That one kind of requires that you die in the process, though.

You've obviously never been Karnewarrior then.

I played CoC once and Cthulhu had to roll for sanity loss.

I wonder if ghost testimony is considered unusually reliable or unreliable?
