Really digging your... alternate interpretation. At least, I assume that's not canon.

Also yes, awesome swords once wielded by powermad tyrants are of extreme interest to most players. Sometimes even enough to keep track of!

But the GM really should make her sell the harp, instead of it just being interchangeable with gold.

Infinite stacking is almost never reasonable.

Of course, exchanging money for time is kind of a strange example, because money tends to be concrete and finite while time might be of the utmost importance or completely irrelevant, depending on this and that. Letting someone trade out one for the other is thus probably a bad idea from the start, similar to swapping mechanical advantages and "RP penalties."

I think the game writers failed there xD Most effects tend to have "this can only be used n number of times."

Though one of the 3.5e D&D Dragonblood feats had Enlarge Breath, which had no restriction, and doubled the cooltime for x2 the effect radius. You could genocide all level 1 citizens and a good chunk of the level 2 citizens by using your breath as a kobold, then recharge for a couple of years.
