"Carrot...captain, we're here to determine if she is safe. Whether she murdered you or not is not the resl question." replies the Duchess.

"Oh...NO. Don't you DARE ignore me, Friesden. Kindly explain to everypony what REALLY happened, or I shall." says Khenal/Carrot sternly.

[Telgin]

'Yeah...your ribs are going to need to be looked at again...'

((Hope Dr. Bubbles can work in a !!hospital!! or do it in the courtroom, heh.  Did I read that Nicolta Tesla was currently in the !!hospital!!?)

Falcata gallops down to the entrance to the hospital, heart pounding.  She rounds the corner and sees flames engulfing several piles of sheets placed strategically throughout the room.  The smoke is beginning to get quite thick now.  She takes a deep breath and steps inside, checking for any patients still in their beds.

((Whoops, left Darkmane in the hallway.  What to do with him?  Think he'd just be nice and stay still while she's busy being a hero?))

[Khenal]

"Carrot, please settle down and wait your turn.  Commander Starkey is trying to testify."

'Please Carrot, just be patient.'

Friesden turns her head to Carrot as best she can.

"I killed you. That is what happened. We are trying to establish that I am still safe. Your interruptions are not helping, as much as you may think they are. Please wait until I am ready to direct questions to you."

[The Master]

'Khenal? Why didn't she react when I went into you? Keeper, I'm back!'

[Dsarker]

"Oh, joy."

[Khenal]

'Friesden?  She knew it was you.  She was there when you asked to stay in my head, after all.'

The smoke was stinging her eyes and beginning to make it difficult to breathe, but through the thickening fumes Falcata made out a single pony lying uncoscious in bed.  She scrabbled forward, and using all of the magical might she could muster hefted him onto her back.  She steadied the unicorn on her back as best she could between violent smoke-choked coughs and staggered back into the hallway.

((I presume nopony else was in the hospital?  And still not sure what to do with Darkmane... seems like a good opportunity to do something underhanded.  Like run away at the very least))

((They are Charity's, and that wouldn't do much for the "I'm not possessed" angle.  Also, I'd expect only Nicolta to be in the hospital.  All of the staff is likely at the trial.))

((I can only agree with Khenal, but do it anyway for the fun of it.))

((oh, wait, I think Khenal got it a bit wrong. He means the chains binding Carrot, but The Master means the chains on Friesden.))

The chains on Friesden snap silently, and she sees Carrot/Khenal smiling at her.
