SUDDENLY, THE SUN GOES OUT AND EVERYONE STARTS SINGING SUNSHINE LOLLYPOPS AS THE WORLDS BURSTS INTO FLAMES AND IMPLODES!

I continue dodging and blocking for all I'm worth, all the while channeling my magic to the construct and trying to reach Friesden with words.

"Friesden!  Please, I don't know how much longer I can last.  You need to come back!  Please!"

One of her strikes finally lands true, sending me flying and breaking at least one rib.

And with that last kick, Friesden drops asleep.

I stagger to my hooves, breathing raggedly from the fight and my broken ribs.  I slowly walk over to Carrot.

"Come on, Carrot.  Get up.  I don't think I can carry Friesden like this."

"...Carrot?"

Carrot is so ridiculously mangled that his insides are actually scattered across the fortress. Whatever was controlling him, it got what it wanted. Psycho Carrot was no more.
((For the record, Friesden did murder Carrot.))

My eyes widen as I realize that Carrot is likely not going to simply get up from this one.  I turn and dry-heave, failing to vomit only because I haven't eaten yet today.

I finally cease channeling extra magic to the construct, instead needing to gather up Friesden and what's left of Carrot.  I lay Friesden across my back, heedless of my injuries, and trudge towards the carpentry shop.  Once there, I open the large chest I had made and place Carrot's remains inside it, tears flowing.

"I...I'm sorry, Carrot.  I made this chest for your birthday, hoping you'd like it.  I never expected it was a coffin, instead."
