Mostly for two reasons.  Firstly, he doesn't remember his most significant interractions with you.  Seccondly, you two don't have many opportunities to interact.  You are in the markspony squad and he's captain of the guard.  Also, he's not the most observent pony when he had something on his mind.

...So three reasons, I guess

Dear Diary:
Between the two caravans, we only got 1 bag of plaster powder. Miss Charity has told them that we need more, so hopefully more will come.
We've been promoted to a county!
The caravan has brought many healthcare books, which I need to get to reading immediately.

Since everyone else seems to be ignoring you, I'll play along.

Charity is walking past the infirmary where Psycho is staying. She overhears the sounds of crying. She considers getting the doctors, but decides to investigate first. She walks in and sees Psycho.

"Carrot? What's the matter? Are you okay?"

*Hearing the sound of crying, I step outside and find Carrot shedding tears for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and Miss Charity trying to comfort him.*
"Wha....What happened?"

"Why do I feel like I'm forgetting someone?!"

"I don't know doc. I was just walking by and heard crying, but if I had to hazard an educated guess. I'd say it has to do with him starting to remember somethings."

I continue to sob

"Psycho, it's okay." Uses magic to drape a warm blanket over psycho's shoulders.

"Doctor, I think he's trying to remember Kil. Go get her now. She should be nearby. I saw her on my way in, she was moving some drink barrels down to the dinning hall, look there."
