Khenal, I hope to Kulet you're in my head too. Whatever you're saying, it's just agitating her!

Friesden (or not-Friesden) is trapped in the book, while Friesden (or not-Friesden) is talking to them in Khenal's office.

She's babbling some nonsense about honor and death or something.

"Friesden!"

Not again!  Never again!  They never had this chance, but I've done the research, I can at least give her a chance at being whole again.

Friesden's Diary

Friesden, listen to me!  Do not give up hope!  Remember your friends, they give you strength.  If I could, I would take your place, but it's all up to you.  Please, be strong, my friend.  Things are about to get very scary, but you must come back to us!

My horn glows a soft green, belying the powerful magics now at work.  Some part of Friesden's consciousness is in her diary, and it must be reunited with her body.  The bridge is made, now Friesden must cross it and return to herself.  Then she must confront whatever or whoever is in her body now.

Who are you? I'm safe here. Father told me so. Where's mother? Have you seen her, Khenal-of-the-Faceless-Voice?

I wake up with no memory of the events that transpired. Perhaps, it's better that way.
"Ugh...I...ohhhhh my head...Did...did I miss something?!"
I begin to look around and notice the destruction of the hospital, the IV sticking out of my arm, and the fact that i'm strapped to a traction bench.

"Starkey! Tell Friesden that a bridge has been opened! She'll know what it means."
I notice that Khenal is channeling magic. Hurriedly, i transfer some of my energy to boost him.

I attempt in vain to break free of the bench.
"Why is there nopony here..."
I begin to become worried about such simple things such as that, all the while something far more sinister was occurring in another wing of the fortress.

I release Carrot from the traction bench, but tell him to wait in my office.
I grab the diary from Khenal, and write to Friesden "Your other half awaits, you must defeat them."

Maybe her consciousness isn't the only one in her Diary.

Friesden's Diary

I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting your mother, Friesden.  Or, come to think of it, your father.  Could you tell me about him?

The bridge spell will last on it's own for now.  I need to probe the Diary, figure out if Friesden is alone in there.  Suddenly, the diary is snatched from my hooves.

"Hey!"
