It was at this moment that Istlig chose to arrive. There's a slight change in the air, but nothing too ordinary. He arrives in uniform, with wooden truncheon at his side.

"Reporting for duty, sah!" he shouts out, snapping to attention. He wrinkles his nose. "Your ordered...beatings," he says, twitching as he does so, "have been carried out. As before, I address a formal complaint at using real weapons to deliver it, sah. Somepony might have gotten killed."

[Khenal]

"I... You... What?  I didn't order beatings!  I asked the suspects be brought in for questioning!"

[Dsarker]

Istlig remained stock still. "Yes, you did, sah. Got it all filed up with the mayor, as per her orders, sah."

[Khenal]

"But...but ponies did die, you murdered Bokbon and Nanges!  I'd...I'd never order ponies beaten, especially not with real weapons!  P-please surrender your weapon and c-come with Commander Starkey and me."

[Dsarker]

Istlig loses his composure.

"W-what did you say? They...they DIED? You....you made me murder them...I killed them...I killed them!"

With a flash, he draws from under his armour a small dagger. A word is visibly written on it. The word 'Honour'. He makes to stab himself.

[Khenal]

"No!"

My horn flares as I grab the dagger in my magic.


Honour...

[Dsarker]

Istlig struggles, trying to hold onto the dagger.


"She knew you'd do this!" he screams. "She knew you'd try to get me to kill innocents. But I won't be your pawn any longer!"

[Khenal]

There is no Honor in this!

"Istlig, she's lying to you, manipulating you!  I would never hurt innocents!  Please, calm down and come with the Commander and me!"

The knife slowly turns from Istlig and points towards the ground, before a bright flash of my horn drives it hilt deep between the stones of the floor.  I look Istlig in the eyes, breathing heavily and sweating from the effort of disarming him.

"Please, Istlig.  There is no honor in suicide."

[Impending Doom]

While Khenal struggles with Istlig, Starkey has managed to get behind him. He wraps a foreleg around his neck, using his full body weight to shove him towards the wall: a classic guard takedown maneuver.

Istlig recieves a punch to the jaw for his troubles.

"Now listen you! I. Am not. In the mood. For games tonight. Who gave the order for the killings?"

"Khenal did! He's our commander!"
