"This is something I have yet to see before. Go look for Khenal, he may be able to help you. I lack the knowledge of how to treat this."

"I see...That's ok...Oh, when my wife wakes up, could you try to convince her that she just dreamed that whole incident?"

"Sure."

[Khenal]

I close the door to my office, ready to relax after a long day of patrol and training the Guard.  Well, relative relaxation, at least.  I scan my books on magic, looking for any that may have something pertaining to Carrot's condition.  I stop and pull out one that I had forgotten I bought.  That strange zebra threw it in with the pile I bought a while ago, when I got a cryptic message and a good deal.

"'Magical Maladies and Arcane Afflictions'?  Sounds like as good a place to begin as any."

[The Master]

I head over to Khenal's office and knock on the door, hoping that he's there.

[Khenal]

"Hm?"

I set the book down before going over to open my door to see who it is.

[The Master]

"Hey, I was just wondering...have you learned anything helpful about my...condition?"

[Khenal]

"I only just now got a chance to really look into it.  This book here looks like a good place to start." I say, levitating 'Magical Maladies and Arcane Afflictions' for Carrot to see.  "It even has an index by symptom, so lets check.  I guess the obvious symptom is lack of heart beat..."

Pages flip rapidly as I follow the index.  'Zombie' is the only condition listed with that symptom.  I do my best to not let Carrot see the page as I scan the other symptoms for zombie.

"Um... have you noticed any lack in appetite, or unusual cravings?"

[The Master]

"Now that you mention it, I have sort of lost my appetite...but I that it might just be from the fact that my heart doesn't work. Oh, and my skin is beginning to flake off. ALL. OF. IT."

[Khenal]

"Total loss of appetite, severe dermatitis.  Or is it psoriasis?  How about your coat and mane?  Oh, and let me check your temperature, please."

I reach out my hoof to feel Carrot's forehead to get a rough feel for his temperature.

[The Master]

Psycho's temperature temperature is ice cold.

"Hmm, interesting.  No dementia, at least not with that Daemon gone.  Well, Carrot, I think I have good news and bad.  Which would you prefer first?"
