"Don't panic, don't panic!" I say, clearly needing to take my own advice.  "You're still in the hospital, I'm sure a nurse can help you.  Charity!  Do you know where a nurse is?"

My eyes widen and I shake with terror, as another memory comes rushing back,
"I remember something...I was talking to friesden, then everything went nuts! I went berserk and I tried to kill everypony! But Khenal, that's not what is making me shake...It's what happened after that. I remember being hit by the blunt side of Starky's axe, but here's the problem: I wasn't knocked out, I...WAS...-I gulp as I say the final word- KILLED! The world went dark and I saw the light. Then it faded and I fell! So the question is, HOW AM I HERE TALKING TO YOU?!"

[Khenal]

I back away from Carrot as he confronts me, avoiding eye contact.

"Um... maybe you had a vivid dream when Commander Starkey knocked you out?"

[The Master]

I smile weakly,
"Wouldn't that be nice? I wish, but if it was just a dream, -I lose all trace of horror at this point, replaced by a strange calmness- why isn't my heart beating?"

[Khenal]

I look up, slightly confused.

"It is, isn't it?  I mean, you're bleeding.  I don't think dead ponies bleed much, and they certainly can't worry about being dead, right?"

[The Master]

As Khenal says this, he notices that the blood has stopped oozing from the wound, yet he can clearly see that the blood has not clotted,
"I really don't care about anything anymore...Even if I am just some half-mad pony, I...I don't know. I really...huh. -I suddenly perk up, acting childish again- That's funny, was I talking just now? Weird! WANNA HERE A JOKE?!"

[Khenal]

'Maybe Dr. Bubbles was right to be worried...'

"Um..sure?"

[The Master]

"Ok, heh heh, here goes...KNOCK KNOCK"

[The Master]

"Help me."

[Khenal]

"Are...you alright, Carrot?  What can I do to help you?"

[The Master]

"What do you-help me!-mean? I don't need-KHENA, HELP!-help from anypony!"

[Khenal]

'Use the sleep spell, it worked before!'

'Wait, "before?"'

"N-Now settle down Carrot.  You still have that nasty cut.  I don't want you to get hurt, so please relax."

My horn starts to glow subtly as I prepare to scan Carrot's surface thoughts.

*I walk back inside with Kil to find Khenal and Carrot staring at each other, a gash on cCarrots hoof.*
"What happened? Why does carrot have an injury?"

Charity has backed away, into the corner, and been quite, staring at the oozing wound. She makes her way inch by inch toward the door. All this has clearly been to much for the overstressed unicorn she manages to stutter out. "I'll...I'll... I'll go find the Doctor." before she gallops out the door and up the stairs toward the dinning hall in search of Doctor Bubbles. ,but she does not leave.

"...FOR THE LAST TIME, WHY WON'T YOU LET ME HAVE CONTROL OF MY BODY?!"
"YOUR BODY?! HAH! IT'S MINE, AND I PLAN ON KEEPING IT THAT WAY!"
