Starkey stirs next to her.

"Who... oh. good morning, Friesden."

A loud bang of thunder scares poor Friesden.

She almost leaps into Starkey and Otik's hooves.

"There now, it's only a little storm."

"So, I trust you slept well last night? Didn't have... any... night... oh dear..."

As starkey looks up, he sees they are not alone. The entire Glitterglen militia is gathered in the barracks, sitting on benches, bunks, or the floor where necessary. They are all staring at him, and they are all grinning stupidly.

Friesden blushes even more, if that were possible, even without knowing the implications.

A gasp is heard from the back of the crowd.
"CARROT?!"

"You! OTIK!" Carrot barrels through the crowd of ponies and skids to a halt in front of Friesden.

"Hun?"

"Stars?"

"Am I awake?"

Otik reaches over Friesden, jabbing a poorly-healed scar on Starkey's wing.

HHYYYEEEEEAAAAAARRRGH

"Aye, I think ye are, hun. Hi, Carrot."

((The day after Charity's last talk with Psycho Carrot, the following letter is sent to Captain Isos, with very specific instructions that it be for her eyes only.))

Captain Isos,

During the celebratory dinner last night Psycho Carrot's undead body started to be pained. Not knowing what else to do we decided to try and take him to his tomb to rest. Upon reaching the surface he, felt better, (or stopped faking, I'm not entirely sure.) and I put him down. We spoke and he confided in me that his new form was made from parts taken from the graves of other ponies, magically given life by Venture. (Who he forced to assist him somehow, against the poor mare's will.) I told him that this was not acceptable and that I would have to report it to you and the Inquisitor, however, he threatened to release secrets about me if I did so, however I don't know what secrets he's referring to.

I'm not making any orders about what you need to do about him at the moment, but you may act as you see fit with this new information. However, if he could control Venture, he has become very dangerous, and should you decided to confront him, don't do it alone.

On an unrelated note, a book of mine has vanished from my shelf, a very large old leather bound tome, with a silver clasp. I bought it from the last Zebra caravan over a year ago, and it is full of some very dark magic. I acquired it to learn more about the demons we've been fighting, but now I fear it could have fallen into the wrong hands. I suggest you keep an eye and an ear open for it.

"HEY, HIDE ME!" Carrot ducks behind Otik just as a pissed-off guardspony smashes through the crowd, carrying a pickaxe and screaming "DAMN YOU ZOMBIE!!!"

The pickaxe-wielding guard is restrained by a pair of soldiers.

This time it is Starkey's turn to embrace Friesden.

"Carrot, what are ye doin' here? An' why should we hide ye?"
