[Telgin]

The filly spots Falcata lying motionless on a bed at the far end of the hospital and dashes over, heedless to the conversation.

"Mom!" she cries, propping up against the bed.  She takes in the blood covering her mother's face and leg, and her mouth hangs agape.

[Impending Doom]

((I know, and so does Otik. That's why she's not doing anything.))

"W-Well that makes it easier, right? We can just sort of wean her off, instead of going cold alfalfa!"

[Dsarker]

"Wean her off what? Every single sensation she feels she is addicted to feeling that."

[Impending Doom]

"You said the pleasure the daemon gave to her was like nothing you could ever feel anywhere else. It's like she can't get the pure drug anymore, only the watered-down stuff. Eventually, she'll have to come down off it."

[Dsarker]

"And so she won't. Tell me. What happens when you look into a bright light?"

Lilac releases her breath and pants for air. She tries to squirm out of Otik's hug of "doom".

Falcata rouses at the jostling.  She moans again and opens her eyes to see her daughter tearing up in front of her.

"Mom... are you okay?"

Not at all, but she nodded feebly.

"I-I'll be alright.  I... just hurt my l-leg."

[Impending Doom]

"Your eyes hurt, and after a while you... oh... oh, no..."

[Dsarker]

"Yes. That's the problem."

[Impending Doom]

"Clop... clop, clopclopclopclop clop! Okay, alright, you're the expert, what do we do?"

[Khenal]

Reconstruction of the Mirror was going well, but has now hit a snag.  There are only three Khenals left, but they are currently at an impasse:  Each holds a piece of Mirror that could finish it, but there is only room for one piece.  One is timid and empathic, but refuses to budge on this issue.  Another is cold and intelligent, arguing unrelenting logic.  The final is a defender, fiery and protective.

'Stop this, we need to help Friesden!'

"Might be most merciful to kill her."

[Impending Doom]

"...No. No, I cannot believe that, there has to be a way to save her!"

[Dsarker]

"You'll have to first find whatever daemon is playing with her, exorcise that, and then fix her up otherwise. It's never been done before."

"That's it? Great, once Khenal is up, we - wait, you mean you've never done that before?"
