Falcata reaches Captain Isos' office and knocks at the door a few times.  She's starting to get a little light headed now... she hoped she wouldn't have to insist much.  She hated asking for time off, but if she was on duty like this she could be a danger to somepony.

"Captain?  Are you there?"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Shrieks Lilac as she's carried out the door.

((Hope you don't mind, Khenal.))
Meanwhile, inside Khenal's mind, a tiny spark of Carrot is still inside.
'BUT I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!' Hollers Carrot at Khenal inside his mind.

In my mindscape, Carrot is shouted down by a multitude of Khenals.  There are hundreds of Khenals, each vying for control, each trying to fix the shattered mirror.  And each is unhappy with Carrot.

'No!  We all know you did this, and we will not let you harm us further!'

Otik lands a ways down the hall. She spins Lilac around to look her in the eye, and with a free hoof, smacks her across the face.

"D'you think if you just off yerself right now, Luna will take pity on ye, and let ye through th' gates t' see yer family? Well it don' work like that! Y'have ta work hard t'earn yer place among th'ancestors! Ye havenae even begun, an' I refuse t' let ye give up afore ye've even begun ta try!"

'No!'

"No!"

My horn glows, and this time the spell fires off flawlessly as chains appear to bind Carrot and drag him from the mirror.

'You broke us, Carrot!  We will not allow you to fracture us further!'

Receiving no answer, Falcata pushes against the door, but it is secured in place.  Perhaps the captain was at her post already?  She groaned audibly at the thought that Captain Isos would have been several floors up right now.

She takes a few deep breaths and heads for the stairwell.  The pain has subsided slightly, thankfully.  She began to reconsider... perhaps she should just return home, get into uniform and show up where she was expected.  That would take... fifteen minutes?  She might make it on time...

Yeah... that's what the commissar would do.  She didn't want to let him down.

Lilac cries from being hit, struggling to break free.

'Fine!'

"Fine!"

The chains dissapate as Carrot feels the familiar expulsionary force upon him.  The Khenals all yell differing things at Carrot as the force increases: some yell for him to move on and accept the reward that surely awaits him, others damn him as worse than Cockroach, some simply say nothing.  However, they all wish for Carrot to leave.

Carrot resists it and kicks one of the clones in the head, knocking it to the ground, likely out cold. He then gallops to the mirror while the clones were distracted and picks up one of the pieces, trying to fit it back into the mirror.

Lilac simply shuts down, mentally and physically. She goes limp in Otik's grasp, now in a coma.

'Leave it alone!  You don't know how it should be!'

"Leave it alone!  You don't know how it should be!"

My horn glows brighter as the force continues to increase.  The multitude advances on Carrot to remove the mirror shard from him and then remove him from my mindscape.  Some apologize, some sneer, but it is obvious that none of them will allow Carrot to try to put the Mirror back together.
