((Waiting three hours is long enough.))
Lilac sighs. "I don't really care about anything anymore..."

Falcata continues to plod along toward Captain Isos' office.  The pain hadn't gotten any better, and she wanted to tell the captain in person that she wouldn't be able to work today.  The way she felt, she'd probably be in the hospital all day.

At the sound of a wall collapsing, she trots with what speed she can muster in its direction.  She spots a filly sitting alone next to a pile of debris.  With some effort, she asks,"
Wh-what's going on here?"

((thank you for continuing the scene!))

"Oh. Nothing really. Starkey just knocked down a wall in front of me. I don't really care." Says Lilac, without a hint of emotion in her voice.

((Yeah, figured I needed to get a bit more involved around here, heh))

She stares in puzzlement for a moment.

"Captain Starkey?  Why would he do that?"

She peers through the new hole in the wall.

((brb for an hour after this))
"I don't know...I don't care. My family is dead. Leave me alone." Growls Lilac, stomping outside to sleep.

That struck something deep inside Falcata.  Had she gotten to the monster from a few weeks ago too late?  She hadn't heard anything about anypony else getting hurt, much less this filly's parents getting killed.  She resisted the urge to chase after the filly as another jolt of pain rolled through her.  She grunted and turned back to the hole.  Maybe Captain Starkey would know what she was talking about, if he really was behind this.

I was still standing there, panting, as another militia pony came poking in. She wore a curious look on her face. At least, until she saw me, and the look turned to excitement.

"C-Commissar!  I didn't realize you were working here."

Her expression changes to obvious discomfort.

"I-I'm not interrupting anything important am I?"

She cursed herself inwardly.  Of course the commissar was doing something important.

((Impending Doom grasps the Christmas tree by the cord with his left hand! Impending Doom bashes the outlet in the socket with the Christmas tree's cord! Christmas tree, tree has been struck down.))

"Lilac, hun, come back!"

Otik trots off after the filly. Starkey extends a hoof, helping Falcata over the rubble.

"Nothing of the sort, seargent. We were just finishing up."

She nods, accepting the hoof and crossing the fallen debris.

"Thank you, captain.  Can I be of assistance?"  She glances to the commissar.  "Anything at all, commissar.  Err, sir."

Inwardly, I groaned. Another one of the fans. Though maybe, since she was in the guard, she could prove useful at something.

"We'll need to get some stone to finish this up, sergeant. If you could get us some, we can finish."

"Auntie," Lilac says, stopping in her tracks, "Other than you and starkey, nopony really cares about me. What's the point in caring about anything at all if everything dies anyway?"

"Yes, sir."  She attempts a salute, but it comes off horribly sloppy as a jolt of pain runs through her gut, barely making it half way through the gesture.  She backs away and lowers her head.  "S-sorry sir, I'll get right on it."
