'...Did somepony say fire?  Keeper, stay after Carrot!  I'm going to see what's going on with this apparent fire.'

I blink a few times as I exit my mindscape, trying to focus on reality once more.  The trial is the last thing on everypony's mind right now, as everypony tries to deal with the fire.  I decide to forgo a bucket, and instead gather about a barrel's worth of water with my magic and follow Charity.

Khenal was a bit distracted by Carrot potentially driving him insane.

And so the ponies are able to fight the fire most successfully. Fortunatly, the hospital is mostly stone, and while the beds and blankets and tables and cabinets and chests and traction benches are all destroyed. (I'll be throwing them in the magma sea when I play after we finish the trial and replacing them. Lots of work for the carpenters yay.) And ponies will be cleaning ash off the walls and floors for years, nopony was seriously hurt and fire did not spread. Nicolta has a few burns and inhaled some smoke but is expected to make a full recovery. Meanwhile, Friesden has been left more or less ignored, and alone , chained the statue of Justice.

"Hum ho. I regret nought of what's happened. Led me here, and to my finally becoming a person instead of a beast. Whatever happens now, I've had that."

[Khenal]

With the fire out, I return to the hall and Friesden.

[Dsarker]

"I met Khenal. If that's the only good thing I've done in my life, then it's a good life."

[Khenal]

"Please don't talk like it's over, my love."

I walk over and nuzzle Friesden, trying to cheer her up some.

[Dsarker]

"Ha. My love, it's all over bar the shouting. Whatever happens now, it's out of our hooves."

[Khenal]

I simply embrace Friesden, praying it's not for the last time.

[Dsarker]

"There is a song you may know, Khenal, though I hope the writer forgives my changes.

Through the Failed Jungles over fen and field where the long grass grows

"O Friesden! From the high walls westward I looked afar, 
But you came not from the empty lands where no ponies are."

Mayhaps when this is over, you will know."

ThunderSplinter helps in the bucket brigade, cursing as each bed burns to ash, she hopes none of her master work beds were there.

*Bubbles has remained in the court hall, unwilling to survey the damage the fire has done to all his medical supplies. He goes seemingly unnoticed by either Friesden or Khenal.*

(Gods that was annoying. I have created an up to date pony list. It is in the OP. I will try to keep it up to date so I don't have to repeat this exercise. It isn't exactly organized, at all, but it's a start, and they're all there, save for the foals.)
