"OBJECTION!"

[Dsarker]

"What do you object to now, Isos? What, pray tell, my learned colleague, is not to your liking?"

[The Master]

"Nopony has even considered the possibility of a weapon involved! A weapon such as a carving knife could easily create a hole like that! I now present to you my next piece of evidence, the knife found near the chest Khenal made in the workshop!"

[Khenal]

"A knife will not create a hole that neat, Captain.  And, as I said, it was an old wound.  He likely sustained it long before ever coming to Glitterglen."

[The Master]

"Oh..." Isos grumbles and sits back down.

[Dsarker]

"An old wound? Could you give us a best guess as to when it occured? More or less than a decade ago?"

[Khenal]

"I'm not a doctor, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was over a decade old.  At the very least, it looked to have been finished with whatever healing it was going to do well before he died."

[Dsarker]

"Very peculiar! Now, obviously we can't speculate on the cause of the injury. But Khenal. Can you give us a professional opinion. Would this wound be consistent with, say, a unicorn having their horn removed?"

[The Master]

"OBJECTION! This is becoming irrelevant! The fact whether he's a trans-race is not a factor in this trial!"

[Impending Doom]

((I think I see where this is going now... and that is an excellent twist.))

[Dsarker]

"Don't worry, captain, all will become obvious soon enough."

[Khenal]

My jaw drops as I hear the question.  After a few moments, my expression darkens for an instant before I shake myself.

"It...very well could have been.  The regularity of the hole could certainly been because of the joint between horn and skull, instead of a carefully carved head wound."

[Dsarker]

"Hmmm. Interesting. How possible would it be that the pegasus was, in fact, an alicorn, who had come to lose his horn? No, never mind, mere speculation. I withdraw the question. With your assistance, we tracked Èfim back. How far could we trace his record back?"

((Guessing we're going with the idea that not all alicorns are huge like Celestia and Luna then, or is this just a big pegasus?  I agree with Impending Doom regardless, interesting twist.))
