  Couth wakes up from a fitful night of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast of cupcakes and alcohol. it's nice little escape from a Fortress gone to hell. he looks at a mirror and sees the scar Alister gave him. Mares dig Colts with scars, right?

 "you know what? that's not my biggest problem right now." Couth tells the mirror. " The Mayor might kill me, the Domidians will kill me, Khenal might expose me, or Nicolta Tesla or anyone in the cell block right now could rat me out!" Couth exasperates with a little hysteria.

 "It's like no matter what I do now, I lose." Couth admits in defeat. he gives in.

In midst of the paranoia and delusions whirling around in Couth's mind, something devious clicks together.

"No.. no, there is a way out of this this!" Couth exclaims. he grabs a pen and paper and starts manically writing what he likes to call a 'plan' but it's his stream of consciousness on paper.

"I can win! Hahah, they can't kill me if they're too busy killing each other! HA HA!" the madmare beams.

Anypony around to do stuff?  I just finished with the next chapter for Gliterglen if anypony want to see how I'll be handling our bouts of back-and-forth.  Let me know what you think, suggestions are always welcome.

Just posting had worked for everypony so far.  You might want to specify which branch of the military you want, though.  There's the Guard, which was run by Khenal until recently.  There's the Skyguard, which is composed of pegasi with crossbows, and there's the actual military for the melee squad.  Welcome to Glitterglen!

Haha, thanks man, I think I'll go for Skyguard, since Cornbread IS a very ambitious pony.

Cornbread's First Day of Training

Marcus (trainer) "There we go, now that's how you stab. And that-"

Cornbread "-IS HOW YOU KILL MONSTERS!! Alright, thanks Marcus! I am READY FOR-"

*Marcus grabs Cornbread by the tail just before he can fly off.

Marcus "Hooooold your horses, trainee. You've got to master the basics, first. Now show me what you've got."

*Cornbread does a thrust at Marcus, who quickly parries it, and, in one smooth fluid motion, knocks the sword away from Cornbread and renders him weaponless.

Marcus *laughs "With skills like that, you'll be chopped horsemeat in no time! Here, let me show you how it's REALLY done..." (Exunt)

Cornbread's Last Day of Training

Marcus "Alright, trainee, congratulations! You've finished your whole training cycle! Now you can finally go off to war and be a good soldier!"

Cornbread *jumps in the air "Yes! My dream; now I can follow it!"

*Cornbread sees the other graduating trainees flying in a small cluster, heading towards the barracks to report for duty. He immediatly takes off after them.

*Marcus watches the cloud disappears in the distance. He hears the sound of footsteps behind him.

Marcus *turning around "Who are...Grapevine, my brother! How are you?"

*Marcus and Grapevine, a tall cloud guardian, embrace each other warmly.

Grapevine "I am very glad to see you too, brother. I have just arrived from 'insert name here' city. We have trouble."

Marcus *leaning back in shock "Trouble? Why, that is a very uncommon word here in 'insert city name here.' What kind of trouble could it possibly be?"

Grapevine *lowers his head. "One of my subcordinates, Anvil, was found dead by the ramparts. I knew we have a traitor in our midst, but was too weak to eliminate the threat. I seek your help."

[Khenal]

'I'm not sleeping, I'm recuperating.  There's a difference.'

'WHAT'S UP!' Cornbread yells, surprising Khenal.
The white pegaseus introduced himself. "My name is Cornbread! I was sent here to guard...something...apperently...I forgot...hm..."
