The jail is dark, and Captain Isos scowls as Khenal lays Friesden down gently, before chaining her down.

"She killed Carrot and you're still trying to 'save' her? Just give her over to be executed and be done with it!"

Khenal exits the cell and locks it shut.

"Khenal, pay attention to me, damn you! What the bloody hell do you think you're playing at? Khenal? Khenal!"

[Khenal]

"It was self defense, what she did to Carrot.  And I will always help anypony that I can, Captain."

(Well, that, that was unexpected. So, Psycho Carrot is really permanently dead? I'll have to arrange a death trap for him later. Won't use a bridge, because then there won't be a body to put in the coffin Khenal will make for him. I kind of hope his death is enough to set Kil off on a tantrum, but my ponies are all ecstatic, all the time, so I doubt it. If she had any pets I'd eliminate them at the same time in hopes of driving her mad, but she doesn't. I'm not going to kill him off right now, because I have got to leave to meet a friend for dinner in about 15 minutes now. However I will choose, and name The Master's new pony first. In case he want's to use them while I'm gone.

I'm going to rename the marks pegasus Tecak and he will be taking over, as captain of Psycho's squad. In other words, he was one of the Pegasi Charity trusted to be part of her personal Skyguard, which she separated from Otik. He had a father named Enog when he moved here but the father died in a construction accident. [the one that broke Khenal's old office's roof a while back. Remember?] But has no other relationships.

I'll wright up Charity's Journal entry for all this later, but first I need to know. How much is she being told. Obviously she'll know that Carrot is dead, and she'll find out that Friesden did it, from Isos if from no one else. But will anyone [Khenal] explain the extenuating circumstances to her?)

(Also, someone asked about sleeping arrangements for the militia. Starkey and Otik have nice rooms by the barracks and Psycho has had a special room across the hall from the countess. The rest sleep with the peasants in ordinary rooms, several z-levels down. The same goes for the guard, only the captain get's a special room. Which is behind his/her office. )

"Damn you, Khenal." She raises one of her hooves to slap Khenal, then lowers it. "She killed one of our own." She stalks away to tell the Mayor about what had happened.

[Khenal]

'That could have gone better.  We should hurry, Keeper.  I don't know how long we'll have, and Friesden needs to be well before Isos returns.'

[Dsarker]

"Quickly, then. Open the path to her mind."

I settle down in front of Friesden before casting the mental linking spell.

"Please be alright."

I finish the link, and once again enter Friesden's mindscape.

The mindscape is just as Khenal remembers it, and the Keeper who follows him looks around. "Are there any maps? Do you remember this place?"

One difference is that the room which Friesden had been in last time is leaking water under the door.

[Khenal]

'I do, and there shouldn't be water in her room.'

I try to open the door, expecting to have to deal with water once it opens.

'You might want to hold your breath and hang on to something.'

[Dsarker]

"Rightio."

As the door swings open, a torrent of water bursts forth from the room. It pushes strongly, but it passes in a second. In the middle of the room, Friesden is crying, and saying something about the wet.
